Now if we just get free shipping over $50...I'll be putting in an order....still one more step to go for me.

been wondering when a price would be put on these kits. now that there is a price on them i need to find a very good excuse to give the other half to purchase this.

Easy... If you do it for a living it would pay for it's self in the time it will save you, If you are just a hobbiest then it will provide more time for her cause you won't be spending all day removing the swirls!

Ofcourse Megs is saying its designed for its DA polisher though I know it will work with other. But they say its designed to use their backing plate. Does the PC 7424 share the same backing plate? I want to try the system but I don't want to buy another DA just to do itFeed back please

same question, does that backing plate work on the PC?

Yes, the Meguiars 5" backing plate will work on the PC, or the Griots.
I own the identical backing plate and use it on both.

thank you for answering. Now I need to get on good behavior to be able to buy the PC and the Megs MF kit :props:

i know these MF pads need to use the Meguiar's backing plate cause the velcro is different from other backing plates but my question is can the Meguiar backing plate in this kit be used with other pads?

I have a question about this system that I am not sure I have seen an answer to.

I have to the older Porter Cable 7424, plus I have the Flex 3401. I believe the 5" kit is around 5 1/2" so this seems to make more sense for the 7424 as we all know it really can't handle pads larger then 5 1/2" is this correct thinking?

I am guessing the 6" kit is around 6 1/2" so it is for the Flex 3401 and the more powerful newer DA's the XP and Griots.

I am trying to figure out which kit to get and get the best results. I know that Mark(07-z-06) mentioned that when he used the Flex 3401 his results were not what he was looking for.

I could buy both kits, but if one kit will work better with the machine I have then I would rather put the money of the second kit towards more pads in the right size.

Thank you,
Don

I wouldn't even bother with the MF system on your 3401; my experience was on-par with Mark's, the pads just don't seem to work well with forced rotation.

That said, I definitely think the 5" kit is your best bet with the original PC. I've used the 6" pads on mine and they do work, but it's more difficult to maintain rotation and as such it's not ideal.

Charlie,
Thank you for the info. I thought that would be the case. I figured it would be interesting to see how this system works on my own, and for the price of the start up kit I don't mind spending the money to find out.

Take care,
Don

i thought so but just wanted to make sure since non Meguiars BP dont work with the pads due to the fact they use a different hook and loop velcro so wanted to make sure the Surbuf and HT pads will be fine on the BP in this kit

I used the LC backing plate with the pads with no problems...
