Anyone in the market for a wet/dry vac home depot has the rigid 4 gallon 5.0 hp unit packaged with the rigid car cleaning kit for $104.94

The car cleaning kit retails for over $50 by itself

I remember when the detailing kit was $20 bucks! Lol

Yea the price has definitely shot up on the detailing kit. Still a decent bargain regardless.

Harbor freight released their own version of the detailing kit for $30

That detailing kit is an absolute must with that vacuum because the stock hose is useless for anything auto related, and the hose in the kit is very nice, not to mention the accessories

The vacuum itself is currently going for $99.97 so with the package deal you are basically getting the detailing kit for like 5 bucks. It's a no brainer (y)

I started using the bags in mine instead of the canister filter because I got tired of cleaning dog hair off of it. I got a 10 or 12 pack of filters for cheap at Amazon and they work just like the factory bag filter. The material isn't quite as thick as the factory bag but I haven't torn or busted one yet

Thanks for telling us that--I use the bags in mine and there just isn't really enough room in there for them...and I don't want to toss until they are really full because the Ridgid ones are so expensive.

I’ve started using the bags too after the 5 gallon Ridgid I bought came with 2 of them and I liked them. Once it gets chubby I flip it over since one side tends to get more full than the other.

My 16 gallon Ridgid doesn’t have a bag as I tend to use it for more grunt work. I’m thinking of turning it into an extractor with a Mytee wand. I’ve got everything in my cart, just haven’t pulled the trigger.

Speaking of vacuums, I just found out about the Dewalt Stealthsonic vacuum that’s supposed to be only 65 decibels. That’s interesting, has anyone tried one of those vacs?

Yeah, the first time I put the factory bag in I thought they sent the wrong one, it is rather a fiddly process getting them in and even and they all seem too big

Edited to add: I do feel the performance takes a small but noticeable hit using the bags vs the CLEAN canister filter but it levels off pretty quick when the canister filter is coated in dust and dog hair

I was looking at some of the Amazon reviews for the knock-off bags; do you use the filter when you are using a bag? I do.

No, I haven't tried that

I can send a link back channel for the ones I bought if you like

I honestly don't trust Amazon reviews and I kind of took a leap of faith in the ones I bought but so far so good

I’ve rarely almost never noticed a deterioration of suction as the canister becomes more and more dirty… If it was up to me I’d go months between cleaning out my 16 gallon Ridgid, main reason I have to is because as my Cleanstream filter becomes loaded it’ll eventually fall down due to weight because it’s friction fit as opposed to the snap on & lock like the OEM filters.

On my 5 gallon I have the filter + bag just in case the bag busts open.

You just sold me, I have a lifesize picture in my mind now of a bag blowing out

Yuck

I pushed my 1st one to the brink. It was just about ready and I caught the beginnings of a small trail of dirt that had begun leaking out, enough to have to empty everything out and rinse the canister with the hose and blow dry it. Lol.

That's why I keep the filter in my 4 gal with the bag. The bag always seems to leak somehow. We've discussed this before, I use a different vac for interiors so my Ridgid is mostly for leaves and gravel and crap in the garage (and concrete dust, yuck, also why I leave the filter in with the bag).

I could never imagine putting so much stuff into that small canister… Even a single windshield cowl full of leaves seems like it’d be too much for that canister before needing to empty it, let alone a bag. Lol.

Yeah, I made a tactical error when I got rid of my 12 or 14 gallon, and downsized to this Ridgid. I keep my shop vac in the basement because I don't really have room in the garage, and I got tired of carrying the bigger one up and down the stairs. My other error is the smaller diameter hose...although I think you told me how I could use a bigger hose for the 4 gal., but I haven't gotten around to doing anything about that.

I made the mistake of leaving my vacuum hoses out in the sun all summer and both my 2.5” black hoses now have cuts in them from becoming brittle… Actually the 13’ hose the entire end cuff came off now rendering it completely useless. I was about to throw it away yesterday but held off just in case I can somehow salvage that end cuff for something useful or maybe part of the hose? If you have any ideas lmk.

The other hose is pretty much useless too now that there’s a cut in it.
I have to find a spot for my hoses + my pressure washer hose or it’ll turn out the same way soon.
