Incredibly Cheap Finds

As a side note, they do sell one at one of the dollar trees that I've been to recently. I got it, but haven't tried it. Obviously it's a cheap imitation, and only comes with one bonnet, but it may be a bargain.
I bought one of those a while back. It worked great for one car. As soon as I washed it, it was toast. It lost all of the elastic that held it on the frame.

+1! My daughter just bought a new Civic HF. I'm fairly certain I could not have cleaned the windshield interior side if it were not for that tool. I swear, without it, you'd have to literally somehow lay sideways on the dash to be able to reach the furthest, lowest portion of it! Even with the seat pulled all the way forward, the bottom of the windshield was still miles away it seemed. The Stoner's tool saved the day once again!

Yeah man those civics have a really long dash! I was using that thing this weekend and I think I'm going to get another one, so I don't have to switch bonnets in between. The second one will be purely for the second pass to remove all the cleaner. That way it can't dry on while I switch bonnets.

And yeah I know what you mean. The backseat of the Mustang is hard enough to get into. I was literally falling over trying to reach all the way back there. Plus then I have to redo the upper section because I hit my head trying to reach the bottom lol.

I found some incredibly cheap micros for interior and some storage bins to keep them in.

First- the towels: The bags were pretty dirty on the outside. I've never seen these before at full price, either. I suspect they were old and in storage somewhere, so YMMV. The bag didn't say how many were in there, just "6 bonus towels in each pack." They are the HDX brand, so they have to be relatively recent. There are 30 in each bag! I got 4 of them. I guess I can finally color coordinate! Green for interior now. 17 cents each, even at 12x16 that's a great deal.

Since I bet that was limited to the one store, I will share this:

Lowes has $3.75 for a 6.5 gallon storage tote with built in lid. I've used the 12 gallon version of these before and please don't put gallon jugs in them. They're light-duty use, but the size is great- I just need to refold these towels to maximize the space. I am also a huge fan of the lids staying attached; I'm always losing things.

I'm guessing you mean 17 cents per towel? So $5.10 per pack?

IME HDX is pretty hit or miss. It's their cheaper store brand, so I think they just get the cheapest stuff they can, may be good, may be crap. I have some HDX bits, so far every flat and phillips I have used has snapped in half. But I have some HDX plastic organizers that are top notch, so please update us on how the towels work out, especially as far as linting and how well they hold together after you wash them.

The boxes are a great deal too. Too bad my stuff is stored in the basement, so the tote style lid would drop 100 year old basement dust all over my towels lol.

I believe it was Forrest Gump who said, "HDX branded products are like a box of chocolates...":D
I got that same pkg. of towels 3 or 4 months ago. There was a promo bin right as you walked in the door, The weird thing was, it didn't say anywhere on the pkg, the quantity inside. I asked the guy pulling door duty if he knew what the deal was with them and he didn't so he called over to cust. srvc. They didn't have a clue so they called the pro desk (Why, I have no clue...) By the time people stopped calling other people asking about the quantity inside the pkg. there were 6 employees standing by the bin including the M.O.D. who assessed the ridiculousness of the situation and ripped a bag open, handed it to the original guy at the door and told him to count them and to get a sign on the bin then told the rest of the makeshift crash team to get back to work.
So, when I learned there were 30 in the pkg. for that price, I grabbed a couple of them. They're my go-to towel for anything non-paint related. They're tough, they clean up well and at that price, if they get something nasty on them, they're disposable.

As for hit and miss on the HDX stuff, I agree completely. Their Magic Eraser clones are far better than the name brand ones and cost a third the price. Their spray bottles are complete garbage.

I went to Lowe's yesterday and they had the Nxt 2.0 wax for $7.48. The cool thing about it was it was a bigger box, so I opened it up and each box had the wax and NXT car wash! Both were full size bottles, and also the application pad was in it. I went to check out thinking that it was $14.98, and it rang up $7.48. I went back and bought all 4 that they had. I left Lowe's and stopped by Wal-Mart, and they had the Meg's Christmas Bucket on sale. Normally was $22.97, had them 50% off to make them $11.49. I picked up all 3 of them and to my surprise, they rang up for $5.00 each! I had a good day buying product!Im the MAN

I remember seeing HDX towels in a bin at Home Depot for $9.99 for a 30 pack. I passed and when I went back to pick some up weeks later they no longer carried them. Go figure...:(

That's a steal for all those things! I love Meguiar's so I would freak out if I was lucky enough to find that stuff for that price.

Yep, well, 5.30 for the pack. It was early. The pic has the receipt in it.

I have a few free tarps from HF that I drape over my stack of boxes. Even the tighter sealed ones, just to be safe.

Good to know! I actually had a little lint on my shirt after opening one of the packages but i got that off and opened the rest and nothing came off the rest of the towels. After the wash, I noticed they don't have any lint whatsoever, so far. My friend has a pack of their white and orange ones that they currently sell and these are smaller but definitely more plush.

That's awesome. I got a few boxes of those a few weeks back. I wish I would have waited. Mine are 13.48 per pack, do you mind if I ask what your zip is? Just to see if they're coming up online for that price.

My walmart still has those buckets at full price!

The zip for the NXT wax with Wash is 70809. The web says $13.48, but when she rang it up it went down. If you see the Meg's buckets at Wal Mart, scan one on the scanner they have in each department or get it price checked. I was planning on paying $11.50 each for them until she rang them up.

My Meg's bucket is $18. I just ran down to my local store to check.

Now if only I could find some paint safe incredibly cheap microfibers

Thanks man I appreciate the help. My lowes has 2 different boxes on the shelf. I'll check both next time I'm there.

No. I have the Megs grit guards though they they fit perfectly.

Yeah turns out you gotta be careful about that. I decided to drop a whole $5 on a fancy 5-gal bucket at lowes lol. It was translucent with measurements on the side. Well, I killed it the first time I used it. Tried to force the grit guard down and put a hole in the side!

Nice! A while back AG had the Megs one buy one get one free, so I got them. They are the same yellow as the bucket, and dropped right in.

Here ya go.
12 Yellow Microfiber Towels Polish Cleaning Cloths | eBay

Their towels are all either 280 or 330 GSM and are 80/20 blend, 16x16. The link is for a dozen 330 GSM ultra plush towels for less than a dollar each. The more you buy the cheaper they get. A 96 pk. of 280 GSM's is about 60¢ each! They have tons of towels and colors. They also have waffle weave towels for less thana buck too! I've bought towels from them a couple of times now and have been more than pleased with the product.
