I got my brother the Meg's bucket for Christmas. I tried explaining grit guards and the 2 bucket method, but he didn't get it. It kept nagging at me in the back of my head so last week I bought him a 5-gallon bucket and 2 grit guards lol. He sent me a pic of his car all clean, he loves it! I feel like I'm recruiting for some kind of detailing cult lol. Drink the 5 gallon bucket of koolaid! Im the MAN

By the way, that's the first bucket I've had an issue with. The grit guards seem to fit fine in the Lowes and HD store branded 5-gal buckets, as well as the silver ones at Lowes and the white ones at both stores.
 
Another great find that I discovered was that Sears had a Meg's Christmas special too. It was a trunk organizer full of product from the Ultimate line, all full size bottles. It had Ultimate Wash and Wax, Ultimate Quik Wax, Ultimate Protectant, Scratch X 2.0, Hot Shine Foam, Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner, applicator pad, and the trunk organizer. Regular price was $59.99. I was in the Sears Auto center and they had 3 of them left. They rang up $19.99! Got all 3 for the price of one. It depends on where you live I guess because it shows up now as $53.99 in my area. Maybe they had them on sale, I'm not sure. :righton:
 
So my walmart $65 Meg's starter kit came in today..

Came complete with an empty bottle of window cleaner and soaked MF Towels..

Costco has 2 500 lumen LED's Duracell flashlights for $20. Absolutely fantastic single diode lights, better than the Brinkmann Dual LED that I've gone through two of and continue to break.

This is by no means a "deal," but this light is simply amazing:

The price is... regrettable... but my god it's bright. When the power went out a few months ago, I propped this up on a table, pointed at the ceiling, and it lit up the whole room. Charges fast, charge lasts long, lightweight.

I think it might actually be too bright (2000 lumens, yes thousand). Sometimes I have to point it next to defects rather than directly at them, or else I just see a pure white spot. I've never used a Brinkmann, so I don't know what it's supposed to be like when you use these things, I just know it works. And I can blind intruders without having to get a gun permit. XD
 
Is that a single diode light or does it have multiple led bulbs behind the lens?

Looks good, although being too bright specifically working on cars can be an issue. As for the Brinkmann, in my experience the Dual LED is a piece of junk, I've had 2 break on me, and the battery lasts 15-30 minutes at most and dies within a month of getting it.

It's a single diode. I don't know how long the battery lasts, but I have never had it die during a single use. It always takes a few uses, so I don't keep track of the overall time.
I have had it for a few months, and the battery is still kickin', unlike the $10 spotlight at HF which is dimmer than when I got it and doesn't hold a charge as long anymore.

The Lowe's website specs show this as 755 lumens, which is still very bright. Does that differ from what's shown on the packaging?

Sorry I think I posted the wrong one. The packaging on mine definitely said 2000 lumens. I didn't realize they made a less powerful version aside from the waterproof one. Here is the one I have:

It's the LEDLIS, the one from Lowes is the LEDLISL. I bought it at Walmart, but I find searching their website to be a chore. It actually has 2 modes: 2000 lumens or 900. It uses the higher mode by default, but you just press a button to switch. It also has a 3 color led battery indicator, so you're not caught off guard.

I purchased a gallon for 3. 39 at one store of that product. Bought the town out of it . My ollies store had 3 packs of megs supreme shine mf towel for 4.99.
