Incredibly Cheap Finds

I decided to go get one bottle of the Turtle Wax rinseless, and upon entry to Advance Auto Parts all of them are 50% off additional.. so i bought the last 3 bottles, and 2 waterless meguire's wash n wax. Total was $50 bucks and i ended up paying $23 with tax
^ Better luck than I had on the way home from the office this AM. I stopped at two different Advance Auto stores. One had the Meg's UWWA for $8.99, the other had none. Both had the Turtle Wax rinseless, but for $6.35 each. Since they were usually $6.49 this is no big sale to me. I will stop in say in about a week and see if they've either come to their senses or found some uninformed customer to buy their "clearance" priced products. Oh, they also had the small selection of Griot's stuff for $5 off across the board but the dust on the bottles was too thick for my taste (read: OLD product.)

It's probably worth $5 each as the sprayers are worth a few buck in themselves. Plus, they have a deal going on where you get $5 or $10 off if you buy 2 bottles. I'm sure it's a long shot, but I'd be willing to bet that the computer would take off the $5 anyway. It did for me when I got two bottles of interior cleaner last week, they were marked with the red clearance sticker to $6.90 and they took off an extra $5 automatically. The guy didn't blink an eye, just told me my total. I didn't think about it either till i checked the receipt.

Everything is store-by-store though, or at least it seems.

OK, this requires some (digital) legwork.

First, it's the Craftstman 1700 PSI 1.3 GPM pressure washer with Steam Cleaner.

Mediocre reviews, but I find that most pressure washers in this power-range do. Alot of folks don't like the ability to clean their second story siding that's been neglected for 15 years, etc.

I've used this (maybe an older model) and it works just as well as my Karcher and my neighbor's Greenworks (that sells for $199 at lowes)

I would choose this over a Karcher for one main reason. You don't have to replace the gun to get a foam cannon on it. It comes with the standard PW quick connects. IIRC, it also has metal hose inputs and outputs (for lack of better wording) but I can't confirm. I ordered one as a backup (had $28 in SYWR points from a lawn mower I purchased last month) and shipping was available. It says they're temporarily unavailable for shipping, but check back often as Sears is crazy.

It is available for pickup in my area, and I don't have a "real" Sears anymore, just a few "Hometown" dealers.

Onto the numbers and legwork. If you haven't already, sign up for Shop Your Way Rewards free trial, here. Once you do, go into your settings and turn off the auto renewal and you're good to go. That will get you free shipping if it comes back, if not, use "Tools10" as your promo code to get $10 off, bringing this down to 98+tax.

You're also going to get a steam cleaner and 1 year warranty. Easier to swap out under warranty than the Karcher, too.

As a side note, there's a coupon that is supposed to work on tools for $15 off 75+ but I couldn't get it to work. I'm sure you could call 1800 or chat online and get it to go through, but here it is: save15

I'll let y'all know about the steam cleaner when it gets here. I don't have any experience on the item, but I honestly will use this as my main device if it replaces my Karcher&mculloch, but I'm not holding my breath.

I know that I myself have never really looked into waterless car washes - other then just believing they are a bottle of quick detailer and nothing more -- But I think my main concern with them is this

I live in New Hampshire, So the only time I would ever use them is in the winter time when its so cold outside that I cant use water and a hose to wash my car with - However I feel like the purpose is defeated because where I live they have road salt / sand / ETC you name it covering the streets and the cars get absolutely FILTHY -- My impression is if your going to use a rinseless wash that it has to be on a "semi decent" car and not something that is totally trashed and caked with dirt, which is what all cars become in New England during the winter

we all end up looking like this guy (would you wanna try to rinseless wash something like that?)

I keep thinking the same thing..

WALMART I use this universal organizer rack as a dryer for my pads (Buffing/polishing)

Certainly depending on weather conditions your wash method is sometimes chosen for you.

Aside from vehicle condition due to weather or "time since last wash" I tend to use rinseless and waterless washes for two other reasons:

1- The break up the monotony
2- To save time

Yeah I suppose im just one of the few that never understood why youd use it -- Honestly im probably a weirdo but detailing my car is like free therapy to me, it relaxes me which is crazy to think about - but I could spend 6 hours on a Saturday afternoon on my car and not even think twice about it, I actually enjoy it

Joe & Blue Beast, I am in the same predicament also with the salt. I just got some Optimum No Rinse. I havent washed my daily in a bit over a week. I am going to do a test on it.

I scored huge at Advance Auto this weekend. I met a guy at a new AA store to sell him some car parts, and after we parted ways, I decided to pop my head in and I am so happy I did. I found the clearance rack, filled with some good detailing stuff..and one of the employees then told me it was another 50% off everything on that rack.

This was my first haul...it was $21 total for everything below.

Then my buddy wanted to go back to buy some oil, so I went back a couple of hours later and bought 2 more bottles of the Megs Wash Anywhere ($3 each) and 2 mothers headlight restoration kits ($10 each).

I didnt need any of this stuff, but I couldnt let someone else get these deals! I tried out the Megs Wash Anywhere on both of my Jet Skis and I have to say I am pretty impressed. It was the first waterless wash I have ever used and I liked it!

Waterless is awesome, but i only do it when my car hasnt been washed for 2-3 days and is simply dusty or it just rained on a partially dusty car. For example..i did a high pressure rinse Friday evening, and saturday i did a waterless method, worked like a charm.

Yea I wouldnt use it on my car right now, as it is covered in salt and road dust...but the jet skis were just dusty. I sprayed the one jet ski with the hose and it was actually beading quite well.

You know what they say,

"Once you go....." wait, I'm going to stop.

I agree with the marketing though, sometimes simplifying things gets in the way of a good product. I LOVE the white wax. It's very close to the cleaning ability of DG501, IME. Just not sealant based, but waxed based. Which, is an added plus for me, as I prefer waxes over sealants.

I LSP too much to waste the durability of a sealant. (yes, I used LSP as a verb)
