I checked the store I usually buy DUB wheel cleaner from and it's still available 😎

Got the last 'little green bissell' at my Lowes, couldn't pass up the price. Plan to test it Monday, those who've used any suggestions or tips?

Thanks

jcaustin87 - yeah the heated one is more expensive & would heat only to 120 - 140F. Tap water should be 120F, so it should be fine.

I really love that little machine. Bought the last two at my local Lowes as well. Honestly, I only use hot water on the inside and use product on the actual surface instead.

Had some time and stopped by Adv Auto. Dub is still there but no sale yet. I will keep an eye on their circulars.

I did find and buy a Meguiar's Dynacone Wheel Polsihing Kit=$16.15

And TW Endrashine Trim Coat kit=$9.55

Only had one of each on the shelf.

Hi Rogue,

Used little green, with hot tap water, fantastic job on the Audi. Had enough in the tank to do dozens of 'stains' in the house. I'm pleased as punch, with this machine & thread.

Great machine without a doubt

It's just such a cool little machine. The heated versions are just not worth it, IMO, because even if the water is boiling hot, it still comes out of the nozzle luke warm, at best. So yeah, I really like the basic Little Green over the others. Combo this with steamer from McCulloch and you have yourself a real nice system that's value priced, but performs like a champ.:xyxthumbs:

Looks like Car Quest is no longer gonna carry Duragloss line. Been in to different store about 70 miles apart and they both had DG on clearance. Got some 901 for $4.00 and Aquawax for $4.50

Yup, as soon as Advanced bought them, the store managers got a list of items, brands, etc. that were not carried by Advanced and they were to liquidate inventory. Since CQ is the only place in AZ that carries DG products, I got to know the guys at my local store fairly well over the years and one of them told me about it some months back.
As soon as I heard the news, I wrote a letter to Advanced corporate offices asking them to consider the situation and the fact that they would benefit by continuing to stock DG products in the acquired CQ stores due to their exclusivity, yada, yada, yada....

I actually got a reply letter from them explaining that their purchasing model and process doesn't allow for individual stores to order and stock items that aren't globally available to all the stores in the chain and that they weren't considering DG products at this time.

The manager at my local store let me buy all of the remaining stock I wanted at dead cost. I got a case of Aquawax for $3.53 btl., Leather & Vinyl Dressing for $4 and change per btl. and the cherry shampoo (forgot its actual name and product no. at the moment) for $5.00 per gallon. I also bought several "onesies" for dirt cheap too. I'm gonna hate having to order that stuff and pay shipping on it.

At least Advanced corporate actually took the time to respond to my letter when they could have just as easily blown me off with no explanation. On the flip side, I really, really, really hope once the transition is finished and the CQ stores are full-fledged Advanced Auto Parts stores, we'll see some of the awesomely sick deals I've only read about here in this thread over the past couple of years.

Thanks for the heads up. Will head over to my CQ tomorrow to see if there's anything left.

We heard about this take over a while ago but the stores are still there, will they remain CQ?

No one really seems to know. There's no talk of re-badging the stores, at least not right away. My buddy at the local store said he was first told all acquired stores would be brought under the AAP umbrella within 12-18 mos. of the acquisition. That time came and went and there had been no movement in that direction whatsoever. Then, about 6 mos. ago, he received a packet that has the new layout for his store complete with product alignment, number of facings per item, etc. but no update on the signage or re-branding.

I don't think AAP is quite sure what to do with the CQ stores.

Meanwhile, the guys at CQ go to work every day just like they always have. The girls still deliver the parts in the CQ trucks and when you call any given store, the person that answers the phone greets you with, "Car Quest, this is _________".

Quick side note about my local CQ store.
If you stop in on any given day between 7am and 5pm, chances are good the person at the counter ready to help is a middle-aged, pack-a-day-smokin', five-feet-nothin', sweetheart of a lady named Jeanie. She's been working there for 18 years and let me tell ya.... she knows her shtuff! Before working at CQ, she was in the Army a long time working on anything with at least 4 wheels and an internal combustion engine. She's a fixture there and one of the genuinely nicest people on the earth!
One of her "party tricks", so to speak, is her ability to recite, from memory, the teardown process - in sequence - of any small block Chevy engine! That's freakin' awesome in my book!:dblthumb2::dblthumb2:

The guy I talked to today is under the impression that DG products or being discontinued and that is why they are being marked down. I told him the company just released atleast 3 new products within last year. Told him it is a shame CQ is not gonna sell DG anymore. He said DG products are ok but nothing great and he likes Megs better. I actually laughed and told him DG is a hidden gem cause there is no flashy packaging. And that he should buy a bottle of AW from another store(i bought all they had) and try it. Then tell me they are just ok and he likes Megs better.

**sigh** The things the ignorant and unenlightened allow to spill out of their mouths....;)

IF DG decided to grant me one wish, I'd wish that the "just wiped" appearance you get from anything that gets touched with AW had more last-ability! But, that's probably just me. I'm sure nobody else that's used it thinks the shine is insane, right? Yeah, it's just me. ;) :D
