There is a current thread on detailing product inflation. Grocery shop lately? *OUCH* It's getting bad here. What I use to buy for $30-$40 is now $70-$80. Crazy. EVERYTHING is on the up & up. Don't know how large families are dealing with keeping the basics on the table.

Same here, weekly grocery shop is going crazy. We've also had a lot of flooding to deal with here in the last year, so fresh food is getting even more expensive. Power prices are going up, we have solar panels, so it's not as bad for us. But the annoying thing is, the feed in tariff, what they pay us for electricity from our solar panels isn't rising at all, but what they charge us for the electricity is going up. Once again the little man gets ripped off.

We did get a surprise this week, they announced that our inflation rate had dropped from 7.3% to 6.9% last month. Yet to see any difference though.

It doesn't help that every product manufacturer learned during the pandemic that "shortages" mean profits.

And they're still playing that card......

Definitely concerns me. I have a Facebook friend who's a single mother. Last week she made a post about her raggedy car falling apart. Yesterday she posted about her rent jumping 30%. Despite all of that she continues to be cheerful/positive (hate ppl like that! ..... j/k).
As much as I dislike parting with my money I feel lead to help but am concerned that I might be the next one needing help if things continue as they are now.

I'm not saying all of this for likes (could honestly care less....I'm still the same ahole you hated 5 minutes ago), but rather hoping others will take a look around for someone you could possibly help.
Your not going to be able to take your money with you and more then likely whoever inherits what you have won't spend it the way that you would. Might as well start giving it away now is my train of thought.

Every company is raising their price blaming it on others doing the same so it’s snow ball effect. The only thing not going up is our salary. It’s ridiculous.

If one needs a new house or car now, forget about it, rates are insane.

This recent shipment was so expensive I haven’t even taken the plastic off yet!lol.

Ya it’s scary. I have 3 kids. 10,4 & 2 plus my wife and I. We average $1,800 month for groceries and I’m genuinely concerned how much higher that bill will get over the next few years.

Can't imagine having children in this day and age. I would worry myself right into a heart attack I'm sure. Take care of your health young man

I thought I would post this in this thread rather than start a new one...

Is anyone here going to struggle with Christmas?...I.E. presents for the kids and or food on the table?
Not to pry into anyones personal life , but to me.....this has to be a major factor this year..

I’m not struggling but I certainly cut back on groceries because I’m disgusted with the prices. It’s better for one’s waistline anyway.

Inflation is global and has a few main causes - Fed policy, fiscal spending, Ukraine, Covid and supply chain disruptions and corporate greed.

I'm not trying to downplay how it's impacting people.

Good point. Christmas is going to be a burden for many this year.

Ya...it's either a gallon of "Hyper" dressing or trade for food for a family of 5 along with 2 presents each......:D

I put away quite a few of GIANT EAGLE gift cards (our local grocery store) over the years. About $400 worth. Can also be used for gas. Never expire. Thing's keep up, I may have to start using them.

So Biden is why there’s world wide inflation…..

In my profession as a software analyst, the first step is to examine deltas to determine the cause of an issue. I live my life the same way. Did we have crazy, insane inflation during the last administration....no. Do we have it under the current administration....yes. And the delta is......Slow Joe and the slime that is directing his befuddled ass. I guess, in that light. perhaps you are right. Biden is not to blame....his incompetence may not be entirely his fault.

For the record....was not a fan of Trump....but in the past 'election'....we clearly did not get the lesser of two evils. Perhaps my conclusions are too simplistic, but I can live with then
