Initial Impressions of New Optimum Hyper-Compound, Polish II & Finishing Polish. I have used all 3 to a degree and Dr. G. has hit another one out of the park! I thought the old versions were good. The new versions are GREAT IMO! The best characteristic of the old versions was the long working time. The worst characteristic was that you NEEDED that long working time to cut anything!. The new ones are SMAT which I

prefer and know much better. The compound dusts more than P1 but a hell of a lot less than any other one I have used except D300. Polish II is terrific and cuts and finishes as well or better than any polish I have used. I used the Finishing Polish to pop my cherry on my new Dewalt 849X. I used a Gold Compressor and the polish was a dream to jewel. My buddy and I saw a difference when I jewelled an Audi A6. They are ALL water based so you could go straight to a coating if you were so inclined. I am not! As with P1 wipe off all ASAP or it will be a bear to remove if it dries. I hope the new MF pads are meant to work with these products! If so Megs will have a contender to deal with!

Chris or Dr. G. please send these to Corey, Richy, Ken or Bill to do a proper review! These are GREAT products and deserve a proper review. Your sales will improve big-time if you do! Guys try the 8 oz sizes and you will thank me after!

Jim they are in the cart...been waiting for the new pads to pull the trigger!

can't wait to try them!

Good information to know! I now know what polishes I will buy this coming up spring!

Ryan I don't think you will be able to wait till spring!

Jim,

I have the original version of the Hyper Polish and have to say it works very well.

Im looking for a kick azz finishing polish/jeweling/MF combo. I love using MF discs but finishing has been a challenge at times because D301 is not always an option.

Probably not Tim! :buffing: But I am trying to hold off because I don't need the polishes to be sitting around all winter.

Bobby are you talking about the Spray Polish? I used the original polishes but am not familiar with a non-spray hyper-polish. The new compound cuts super quick compared to the old version.

I have only done coatings lately and D301 isnt an option. M205 finishes about as good as Polish. The Optimum Finish is in a different league!

Good to know, Jim! Pretty much anything OPT makes is a great product IME. I may have to pick some up now since your recommendations are always solid! Thanks
