I'm asking for your input as to which wax may work best for me. So many choices I need a little help deciding. I have a 2007 BMW 328i Sparkling Graphite Metallic. I am gathering my products for my upcoming detail late in December. Btw, the wax will be going over WGDG 3.0.

Thanks in advance for any and all input!
Chuck

Hi Chuck and Welcome to Autogeek Online!! :props:

There are so many waxes to choose from the best wax is the wax that pleases you the most once it's applied and buffed...

Waxes come in many flavors and depending on whether or not the car is garaged, sees winter driving, or is merely a garage queen taken out on sunny days all plays on this decision.

Collinite 845 is one great wax that provides 5 to 6 months of solid protection as well as leaving a gorgeous wet shine behind.

Any of the waxes below will work well for you and some of the ones I've personally tried and like....

you will likely find Wolfgang enough ... if you really want to top I might start at Pinnacles SSII>

Ok, thanks for the inputs thus far. The main reason I asked for input was because of the various flavors. I was mainly looking for that 1 wax that bring out the SGM color even better. The car is garage kept, but daily driven. I figured the full time pro detailers have worked on this particular color more than once and could help me in the best selection. I have been 'eye balling' the Dodo Juice Blue Velvet Hard and the Supernatural as well as the Blackfire Midnight. But, I can't justify the cost of the Blackfire at this time. I can get the Dodo 'Pick 2' pack or even the Supernatural Sample. I have read somewhere that the Souveran looks excellent on top of WGDG too.

Wait until tomorrow. New bogos come out and more than likely you will find some nice carnaubas on there.

Good point, I appreciate that! Gives me an extra day also to figure out exactly what else I want to order too (other products).

We share the same eyes in waxes. While mine is a 2001, it is Jet Black, which is arguably the most finicky customer when it comes to maintaining looks. I can say that I have applied Collinite 845, Pinnacle Souv., and BF Midnight Sun, all with beautiful results. Midnihgt Sun ranks first with me, but I am a confessed Blackfire fan boy. That said, on my wishlist sits Dodo's sample size pots of Blue Velvet and Supernatural. Would love to eventually play with some Fuzion as well.

Point being, gather up any 5 of the above mentioned, throw a rock in the air, and its going to hit something that will make your car look amazing. Next week throw the same rock and add another pot to your inventory to play with. It's fun, and in the end, no matter which way you turn, your car ends up looking different degrees of incredible.

My E36 is Black. Cut and buffed it 2 summers ago using Meg NXT Syn Sealant as final and man was it nice...for a day or 2. After that, I swore I would never get black again.

Anyway, the Dodo is looking like a winner to me so far but I will hold out until tomorrow to order due to the previous post about the BOGO's.

Fuzion . The two play so well together on a dark vehicle.

Save the money on Fuzion and get the Pinnacle SSII that is on sale. I like SSII a lot more than Fuzion.! Just my opinion here :)

I have Fuzion and have SSII on order. I'll give my two cents when it arrives. I really like Fuzion, it spreads For..Ev..Errrrrr. It's different to remove since it really doesn't haze, I guess that's part of why it spreads so well. It seems a lot of the newer nicer waxes are like this, little to no haze. The small tub of Fuzion would give you 5 to 10 waxes depending on car size and how much you put on.

Normally I would suggest Natty's Red/Blue or Max Wax for those concerned about the price point, but the SSII on sale is the way to go here. Great wax for a dripping wet look and lots of applications for the price.

Can't go wrong with DoDo on your Bimmer, but the sample sizes are almost the same price point as SSII on sale for a tenth of the applications.

SSII goes off and comes off exactly the same. U will not be disappointed! Great choice and I hope you enjoy your purchase. Oh and the smell of SSII is somewhat addictive so you have been warned! :D

Thanks for the warning, I'm a sucker for a good smelling car care product...it can be junk but if it smells good I'll make myself like it :xyxthumbs:

I'll assume that you prepped your vehicle to the level that met your expectations. If so...IMO...That's the best your SGM color will look, as reflected through the clear-coat paint film that you prepped.

You've already topped the clear-coat paint with WGDG 3.0... a very good, very protective, and optically-clear sealant...Thus, allowing the 'SGM color' to now be reflected through "two optically clear layers".

But if you really insist on adding to those "layers" with a wax....Try Meg's #26....Even though it's considered a 'hybrid wax'...It's optically clear when it cures....
Then I'd say: These three "layers" has got your vehicle covered!!

Even if you do not select Meg's #26 and opt for another wax...

When waxes start deteriorating they begin to "gray-out", and
therefore not be as optically-clear as it was from the initial application....Your SGM color will become occluded.

This "new-grayish-color" will be the first clue that you'll need to re-apply a wax, if you'd want. Or remove the remnants of what wax that remains. Maybe even starting all over again.

:)

Nothing started yet, just gathering supplies. Wife got me the FLEX 3401 for Xmas so it won't be until then to start on the car. As I posted in another thread, the previous owner didn't take care of it at all. Scratches and swirls everywhere! Most of which will buff out. Give me a few and I'll snap a few pics of what I am talking about. My previous black E36 had very soft clear coat and was extremely hard to keep up with. I spent countless hours 2 summers ago cutting and buffing with a $20 rotary from Harbor Freight and local OTC products (mostly Megs).

Here are just a few shots of my trunk lid. Imagine the roof and hood having the similar, that is what I am working with.

Until after Xmas, I just have to look at the scratches and dream of how it 'WILL' look with some loving care and good products!

I do like the SSII alot also but ive yet to try my Fuzion.

Just pulled the trigger on the SSII and a few other items to qualify for the free MF and free shipping.

I've used the SSII over WDGPS and liked it. It didn't last terribly long (about a month and a half) before it turned a but dull, but then I just cleaned it off and redid it.

Have also used Souveran and P100S, the Souveran was perhaps the best, but very hard to see much of a difference between it and the SSII over the DGPS.
