I'm a newbie, ready to purchase a first DA polisher. I'll choose between the GG6 and MT300, and have questions about BPs and pads. I'm looking to improve the finish on 4 DDs, and definitely will not be going Pro.

I've searched the forum, but haven't seen these points addressed. (This prolly means they're not important, but, anyway, here they are...)

First - selecting a BP: I've seen flexible BPs, and wanted to know their usage, benefits and drawbacks. Are they recommended for a newbie to DA polishing?

Second - pad selection: I’ve seen foam pads that are smooth, offered in a variety of thicknesses, plus the hex logic pads. Is there any pad style that would make it easier for a newbie, or, conversely, pads which a newbie should stay away from?

Third - I see that there are several posts from folks who set up the GG as a 5 inch polisher. I assume this will make it easier to deal with contours. Is this correct? And does the 5 inch set-up make the DA easier to start out with (for a newbie)?

Thanks for any thoughts/advice!

Please ignore my posted questions.
I see most of the info that I needed is in a recent post in the 'Wool and Foam Buffing Pads' forum.
Sorry - I am new to online forums...
