Installed my remaining LED's...

Chris... I went ahead and bought Sylvania Ultras. I almost got the zXe's, but they were bluish tint, plus 60 bucks versus 30 for the ultras (on sale plus rebate). Can't beat that. I will try to install this weekend.

I also went ahead and bought 5k switchbacks and 6418 festoons (plate lights) from Vleds... woohoo. Farah may just be a DD, but she's getting some new trinkets :)

Leds are great, very strong and little energy use. Only problem is they dont get hot enough to melt the snow

Yeah, I had a feeling the zXe's may have had the bluish tint on the bulb, couldn't remember if they did or not. They PIAA's I think might the be the same way. Then again that's really the only way to have the HID look from a halogen bulb.

The Ultra's are pretty white though for what they are. They may look yellowish though during the day and certain weather conditions on night, but other wise they are pretty white.

I'm going on about 2.5 years with my Ultra's, and the brightness has diminished a little, but still nothing like your standard halogen.

I'm sure you'll be happy with them.:xyxthumbs:

So I finished installing my Sylvania Ultras yesterday... wow, talk about scraping my fingers and hands all over. What a PITA. I wish I could be one of the engineers that reviews the final assembly design for all these cars... then ask the question, "How do you nimrods propose Joe Schmo can access these items that require maintenance and replacement?"

sheesh....

but anyways... the Ultras look GREAT. In addition, I received my VLED shipment yesterday, and went to town on the install. I had all the covers off before the package came, so I was all ready :) For now, I went with 5k white for the door puddle lamps and everywhere else...including map/dome, vanity, rear plates, and trunk. I might switch to red door puddle lamps soon. I think it would really match the OEM red lighting in the footwells for driver/passenger.

Makes SUCH a HUGE difference. Clearer and classier on Tori and Farah.

Here's Tori...

like I said, HUGE difference. OEM on driver side.

Then for Farah... same effect.

They're trying to limit the amount of work the average owner can do for a reason.

Lights look good.:props:

I have zxe's in my dd and they're pure white. The bluish tint on the bulb itself has no effect on the color they put out. I've had plain silver stars on multiple cars, and the zxe's are much more crisp white in my opinion. Expensive yes, but I like them better than the plain silver stars.

Putting any color tint on any kind of bulb reduces its overall light output though.

2.5 year on the SS Ultra's?!?! That's fantastic, I averaged only about 4 months with my first set. Complained to Sylvania, and they sent me another set, which also lasted about 4 months. They put out an incredible amount/ quality of light while they lasted, but since I was quite displeased with longevity, finally switched over to Philips XP bulbs. So far so good

Those LED's look fantastic by the way :props:

Yeah they want people to take their cars to the dealers and pay for all the work...

Thanks for props tho Chris... And thanks for ultras suggestion.

I am doing this to my TL-S after the first of the year

God I love TLs... Please post pics when done :)

I bought them then returned them and went with the ultras. There was a rebate plus on sale, so I got them for 30 bucks. The zxes were nice, but I was worried about the blue tint and the shorter life.

Btw, fwiw, I read that most folks get shorter life's on their bulbs because they touch them with their fingers. Did you wear gloves during install? I made sure I wore some...so hopefully it will last a long time too.

Thanks for props on the led lights. I absolutely love them.
