How much do you guys pay for insurance if you don't mind me asking? (mobile)
I'm going mobile and I have no idea how much insurance will cost

Expect to pay around 200.00 per month. Each state varies,if you need comp and collision tack on another 100.progressive will write you a fair quote at least down here in fla.Remember quotes are based on different states.

Keep your car value low.The first thing they will do is ask you what's the value of the majority cars you will be working on.stick around 50k.

Jeff (GSKR) is right, and hopefully you'll get a broker who knows what the heck their doing. My broker is a sharp cookie... He ought to be, he's my older brother. With that said, he know to run the policy on a per-incident basis at a reasonable number like Jeff states.

The policy should list the types of cars, passenger, sports, SUV's etc.. Make sure the broker doesn't tick the tick-box that mechanics work will be done. That will increase the cost.

Secondly, there is no reason to insure up to the entire value of a vehicle, unless you plan on driving them (I don't!!!!). I make that very clear to my customers. On the Mike Phillips VIF form, I added odometer in, and odometer out, and they should be the same reading.

Here is an example of where most people over insure, they insure up to a high value (thinking Ferrari, etc...) When in fact, polishing a fender it doesn't matter if it's a Accord or S550, there is no possible way you will cause a total loss on a vehicle by just working on paint, especially when working in 18"x18" area with a DA, foam pad, and compound, doing test spots, inspecting your work, and using the least aggressive methods. At worst, on a bad day (and I really mean, something has to go terribly wrong here...), you'll have to have a fender repainted, not an entire vehicle and even at that, therefor you don't need insurance to cover you for a 1million dollar vehicle. At best, $20K per incident.

There is no doubt accidents happen, even to the best out there, but always try to mitigate risk at every corner.

My ins is about $1500 per year, but again, it's state to state, policy to policy.

Ok..and thanks... what is umbrella that you are referring to...
