I wanted to know if anyone uses Griots Garage detail products. I am looking at the DA sounds like a good choice. I was wondering what others thought of their other products. I usually have Meguiars products and wanted to change to something else if it is better. I have been reading and learning from you guys for some time and enjoy the forum. Thanks for your recommendations.

My current vehicle is Red.

I use alot of groits products .i like there stuff i have no complaints. I love my groits 6" and 3" da .after 30 years of taking my cars to car shows i've try'd alot of other products. I have found groits works very good for me :dblthumb2:

I use their Speed Shine and it works great for me. I also have their 3" dual action which works great on headlights and for detailing motorcycles.

Their "Paint Glaze" is outstanding. Their "Paint Polish/Sealant", "Interior Detailer", and "Wheel Cleaner" are better than average. Hard to beat for the money. I do not like their tire dressing. Looks great but very poor durability.

They make good stuff at least what I tried. I will definitely buy more from them soon.

As far as the GG6, there really isn't anything else that'll keep up with it as a DA. Not a big fan of their pads, but the machine is a no brainer.

Their chemicals are decent, some are great. The smell is one thing that a lot of guys like these days about this or that, Griot's polishes, glazes, sealers, even the "best of show" wax still smell like old school with no fancy smells. All their polishes are DAT products, again old school. Quite a bit of Meguiar's products these days are SMAT products. There is room for both, but I like SMAT with the DA machine, then again that's just me.

Several spray products are a good buy, especially given 20% off (which can be had all the time at Advance Auto for instance by buying online and doing store pickup). Plus their spray bottles are well respected, some even buy them empty to load other products in.

The microfiber towels are also good for the money, (again, not hard to get 20% off with coupon codes). The detailing clay is a STEAL!

Hope that helps a bit.

Oh, and :welcome:to AGO!

Later,

Griot's products are first rate and their customer service is great as well. You won't be disappointed using their stuff.

Very happy with my GG6 but with 5" and 3.5" backing plates for 5.5" and 4" pads. IMO can't beat the GG6 for the weekend detailer--more power than the other units and a lifetime warranty--imagine after only being used 10-20 times per year if 5 years down the road it has a problem--just send it back to Groits for repair or replacement.

Didn't like their Speed Shine and Clay and found the Machine Polish 3 not up to par with many other polishing products out there.

They have some good products, but I think most of it is run of the mill stuff compared to other options at the same prices. Their microfiber drying towel and spray wax are two products I still use, and also the One Step Sealant is nice to use. I would avoid their polishes like the plague, and Best of Show wax is terrible to work with.
