My Car and Driver, April 2010, mag arrived today. Towards the back, on page 106, there is an add for Auto Glym. It list products are available at:

Wally World
Part Source
Advanced Auto Parts
Pep Boys
and one other that I can't make out

just an fyi Im the MAN

On the past two vehicles (Range Rover, Gallardo) that I have put it on, it seemed to require alot of buffing, so much that I had to pull out some QD to get it off. No micromarring or anything, but just a flat pain to get off. Looks good in my opinion though.

How long did you let it dry? or WOWO? The test area I did yesterday didn't seem notably tough to remove, I let it sit for 10-15 mins.

On second thought I do recall the "gritty" feeling of removing hazed over wax, been awhile since I felt that (unlike Max Wax, Souveran, Fuzion, they're sooo buttery smooth) but it wasn't "a pain to get off"

However long it took to wax the entire vehicle. I did the Range Rover all at once, and the Gallardo panel to panel on the first coat and the second coat I did all at once then wiped off. It was hard to wipe off at all times... It was about 60 degrees F when I did both vehicles. I had the same problem with my Natty's Blue today too.

I don't have central air at my apartment :( so I'm wondering if the temperature variations lately have messed with the waxes? Never had issues before though so I don't know.

would the WOWO method yield better results by removing while still damp. Or how about a longer curing time ??

No, AG HD is a wax that likes to dry before being removed...it needs cure time...trying to remove it wet will be much harder..

Apply it uber thin, let it sit for 10-15 min and use 2 MF to buff. One to get rid of main part then second to buff to high shine.

Got lucky and the Walmart by me now has it. Picked me up some yesterday.

I finally broke down and ordered one from Proper Auto Care. $59 - 15% off coupon AND free shipping. I'm happy. Or at least I will be when it warms up enough for me to use it.

I'm reading this thread from the perspective of a former store owner so I see it differently than most of you guys do.

When I read it I can't help but feel like it is somehow wrong to be talking about going to Walmart to buy a wax that competes against their Fuzion and Souveran (among others). Not only Walmart but then post up proper auto care's website.

That's not showing great loyalty to Autogeek on their forum to me. I commend Autogeek for allowing it. I'm not sure I would if I were them.

Not trying to rub people the wrong way here, just giving my point of view. I realize I'm opening myself up for attacks on why my thinking is why Detail City's forum never grew to what Autogeek's has. So be it. I felt it needed to be said.

For the record, I allowed this stuff on Detail City too but it is an open forum with sponsors. This forum is dedicated to Autogeek so that's why I see it differently here.

Actually, I agree with you. In the first place, Auto Geek doesn't sell Auto Glym products. There was a thread on here that got closed because people were discussing Zymol products, and one of the mods pointed out that discussion is limited to products that AG carries. Meguiar's Online doesn't allow discussion of Pinnacle or Wolfgang products, and why would they? Meguiar's Online is for discussion of Meguiar's products, although sometimes there will be discussion on a widely used product such as ONR that people who use 95%+ Meguiar's products use only because Meg's doesn't have a rinseless wash. My point is, why discuss something AG doesn't carry? You don't see any threads discussing Chemical Guys products or Surf City Garage products (if there are they're probably closed), so why Auto Glym? Just because Wal-Mart has it? Also, this thread has over 4400 views and 88 replies (probably 89 including mine). Kinda surprised AG has let it run this long. IMO, this thread should probably be closed now. Just my two cents.

Kind of hard to use that thread to make our point since this thread was started by a moderator. LOL

Sorry Killr, I'm just a little baffled.

Case in point: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/off-topic/10165-chemical-guyz-2.html

From post #16, Meghan says:

We do not mind the discussion of other products when done in an appropriate way, but when the same individuals speak repeatedly about the same line - which we do not carry - then that leaves us to say SHILL! It is especially obvious when you will take the time to try to go around set-up censorship just to advertise a product line you know we are not going to carry. We are open to customers letting us know their likes and dislikes in reference to product lines. We listen and we take on the products we can to better serve our customers. But C G’s is not a product line we will be taking on; therefore there is no need to discuss it, unless you are making mention of it with other products and in appropriate amounts, which we will leave for our discretion. I am sure if you ran a Dell forum, you would prefer the members to talk about Dell and not HP, unless you planned on buying out HP and/or selling them on your site.

We understand everyone uses a lot of products we do not carry; that is not the problem. Discuss them in conjunction with others, but it’s when you mainly carry on about one line only!
I encourage anyone that has any questions to PLEASE call me, email me, PM me I would more than happy to take the time and discuss product lines you would like to see us carry or better explain what is considered Shilling and what is not.
Thank you
My direct extension at work is #207.;)

I still haven't learned to keep my mouth shut. Not trying to cause a stir. :o

It's none of my business and if it doesn't bother them, it shouldn't bother me.

Guess I can't learn to keep my fat yap shut either. Just felt the need for some input is all. I suppose it doesn't really matter. Personally, I'd rather have the SS II on VIP special. Im the MAN:drool:

When I first started the post it was more to offer my surprise at finding a boutique product locally at Walmart. It was shocking and perhaps the first of many to come. Wouldnt it be cool to see Pinnacle/DP/Wolfgang lines locally too ??

I will however close/lock post for reference purposes only because of your request and not to make a double standard. We have recently updated the rules/terms on site and will stick to them closely. It must be said however that this is constantly a push/pull issue on all forums. You want some freedoms but you dont want it to go too far either.

Its nice to see you here now Troy too ...

And to answer the post best, this product is nowhere near as nice looking nor easy to remove as Fuzion nor Souveran nor MaxWax.
