It is a cleaner.
It also leaves a really great finish that feels great to the touch, and has staying power.

You like shine, but don't want glare.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say:
-You can't have it both ways.
-Optics: Increased shine equates to higher
reflective values/("glare-ing occurrences").

I've tried over a dozen different protectants and I always come back to CG Silk Shine. It's one of their best products.
 
I'm not sure why you haven't gone to Ultimate Protectant. In my use, it has a MUCH longer durability. Actually I feel it has Great Durability!

As for shine, it will have a better and much longer lasting shine than supreme shine. If you feel it has too much Glare, then just buff off with a microfiber towel right after application of the Ultimate Protectant.

That blows my mind. I use the regular shine and need to wipe it down about once a week to keep the "shine" down. I also use a microfiber cloth.... no issues and I use the really really cheap ones for those tasks.
 
You can't get it at the store, but I recommend Meguiars Hyper Dressing @1.1

Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer is a bad recommendation in this case...

Hyper Dressing on tires & wheel wells is my go to for 90% of what I do.
Durability depends on how conditioned the tires become with the dressing. For example, my own dd tires pretty much stay black from continued use. But under normal conditions in good weather and proper prep, it lasts about a week maybe 9 days tops. But if it rains, that's another story.

Using it on exterior trim requires attention. Meaning if you apply it to the plastic on top of a truckbed, it'll look great, but if you don't rub it in or allow it to remain even a tad bit wet it'll streak and sling all over the side of the truck. Same with some tires, especially big tires. I would be cautious about using it on door handles. But on areas like windshield cowls, weatherstripping, plastic molding on rear bumpers, wheel wells and places like that it's gold.

It had crossed my mind to try the ultimate I am a fan of that like of products but I wasn't sure if I was gonna get better results but now I see that it just may have been my application that caused it

Agreed I have read nothing but good things about this and am currently using 2 of their QD a wash and clay bar and I'm impressed next time I place an order to restock supplies silk shine will be in it very interested in trying it
 
I use 303 Aerospace and it lasts a long time. When it gets dusty I just give a designated mf towel a squirt of....rinselesss wash made up as a QD and that does the trick for me.
