Hi,

I am fairly new here and have been away from detailing cars for a few years now. I have returned!!!! I miss detailing cars. Since I have been away for some time now, there are many new products on the market. I have been doing a lot of reading here and so far I have learn a lot about some of the newer products (at least they are new to me). Anyway, I am looking for a good interior dressing for vinyl plastics. I am NOT looking for a dressing that is oily and greasy looking. I am looking for a more natural look that last awhile. Any ideas?

Thank you,

Tom

Hi Tom,

These work pretty well for me.

  • 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium Interior Plastic Cleaner
  • Meguiar's M40
  • 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I like DP Interior protectant A LOT. It's not matte, and darkens/rejuvenates the dash a bit, but it's definitely not greasy or oily like armor-all or anything like that. It lasts quite a while in my experience and seems to really go deep down and moisturize the vinyl.

DP is too shiny for me. I like 303 and my new favorite has been Prima Nero. It darkens more than 303 but doesn't leave a glassy finish behind like DP.

Thanks everyone!!!! You have been a great help :dblthumb2:

:iagree: The 1Z cockpit premium is by go to stuff for interiors. Doesn't leave any shine but cleans really well. If you want some what of a shine then the 303 aerospace protectant is awesome! Not too shiny, dry to the touch, and not oily at all.

I do not think you will find any of the water based dressing really greasy. The difference is gloss and evenness of application.

You can go with mostly cleaning products like Meg's QID and 1z's CP. 1z CP is more a cleaner so if you like that try Meg's Quik Interior Detailer for a similar clean look.

DP Protectant's gloss can be controlled by how you buff it. It has a banana scent.

Mothers has a nice cinnamon scent that leaves a slight gloss and spreads evenly.

303 works too but it seems to be less even than others especially on smooth surfaces.

In all cases, the change in gloss is more noticeable on dark plastics.

I cant believe no one has mentioned Ultima Interior Guard Plus! Corey post a link to your masterful review!
