Interior Make-Over

Really nice job. I like doing interiors. I wouldn't be able to do it without my LGM w/heat. I can't wait to get a real heated extractor.

Nice job BobbyG! :dblthumb2:

Interiors don't seem to be the glamorous part of detailing but they are as important, if not more so than the exterior. After all, this is what the driver sees the majority of the time.

Thanks one and all for the complements!

Getting all that caked on grime was a real pain in the butt and seemed to take the longest time to really dissolve. One thing I forgot to mention was that a small bottle of hand sanitizer with literally glued into the rear pocket in the console!! I poured some warm water in there with a few squirts of Optimum Power Clean and it finally broke free!!

Many of you mentioned the interior materials and the first thing I thought was will these stains return? Only time will tell....

The woman was very impressed and couldn't believe it was the same car. She also told me she now has an insensitive to keep it clean......I just shook my head and said; yes you do!! :props:

I almost forgot; Yes, that's our cat that decided to inspect my work before the car was turned over to the owner.....she approved!

Thanks again!! :dblthumb2:

Amazing turnaround BG! Just thinking about a Boxer/turkey grease/projectile pooping gave me the willies!!

Great job on the Ford! I hate the cloth they are putting in the trucks now though it tends to "stain" with just water! I have done a few F150's, Jeeps, and Dodges with the same cloth and they all do that! Looks like you nipped it in the bud!!!!!

:iagree: I qiviered at the thought just glad it wasn't shown!

Looks great Bobby! Nice Job!

Wow - that is a HUGE change. Really nasty interior, I hope you wore gloves!

Awesome job Bobby! That was a serious hott mess!! You are the man!

I can't get over how clean and new this interior looks after you finished with it. It must have taken a helluva lot of effort to get the results your pictures showed us. You're the man, BobbyG!

Call me weird, but I like doing interiors.

Jenn

I guess I'm joining the weird club. I like doing interiors too! It's work, but once you stand back & look at the clean interior through the shiny glass and then open up the door, see the clean door jam, then you see all the work you've done its so worth it. It's kind of relaxing to me anyway, I get to listen to music while I'm at it too! haha

Great job on the interior correction :props:. That thing was nasty and now it looks brand new!

DAYUM BOBBYG!!! You did an awesome job!!! I am currently debating between a Bissel Little Green Machine w/ Heat and the Autocare ProHeat. I think the only difference between the two is that the later is black...have you used both?

I haven't used the Green Machine but the Autocare Proheat does do a decent job especially for the price; $99.00.

One thing I found seems to help with this smaller unit is I fill the water reservoir with the hottest water I could get out of the tap. This allows the unit to supply a constant stream of hot water for the rinse. I also do not add cleaning solution to the water.

I spray the cleaner directly to the carpet or area then scrub separately. This is where the Autocare Proheat hot water and vacuum come into play. I'll go over the area several times applying how water then vacuuming it away removing the dirt and cleaner rinsing the fibers as much as possible.

All and all it does a decent job and for the volume of carpets I do this will work until I can afford the $1000 or so for a real hot water extractor....
