Interior scent, carpet cleaner, and trim dressing?

Picked up my Folex yesterday from Lowe's. Going to look at scents today and order the UTTG with it. Is there anything else you guys recommend? I'll be looking into towels, buckets, pads, etc. next. I just want to get all my fluids and chemicals taken care of first.

Also, I let my dad use the PC 7424, Lakeshore pads, and the Meg's 105 and 205 and he absolutely loved it. This is coming from a guy who's been painting for years and only using a rotary. Said he couldn't believe how fast it would cut and how good of a finish he could get just by changing the foam pads.

i use the costco MF towels, they work very well:P no scratching, they are plush (not very thick tho). i think it was $20 for a 36 pack.

buckets, go to home depot and get the white ones. (not the "homer bucket" ones). IMO, it doesnt look professional to use a bucket with the home depot logo.

home depot has spary bottles too, the "zep professional sprayer" works very well, i keep my folex in it since they spray a high volume of product. they also have the home depot brand ones for something like $0.96 for one, they work well but have the home depot logo imprinted on them. i used some stripper and took the logo off, and just left the markings for dilution ratios/measurement.

Thanks for the reply!

As far as the spray bottles go I picked mine up from Wal-Mart. They were around a dollar a piece and had no labels on them at all. They did have the dilution rations and a spot to place a label though. They worked out great. :)

You're right, I'll most likely get my buckets from Lowe's or Home Depot. I just wanted ones without labels on them. The only thing is that I was to use Grit Guards and am not sure if the Grit Guards fit in those buckets or if I'm better off to order the buckets from here. I know some people get those buckets with the wheels on them and the sealing lids but IMO the money isn't really worth it for the wheels. Also, I don't need the sealing lids because I never keep anything in the buckets after I finish a detail.

I'll have to check into those towels. There's a Costco near here.

Any other opinions are greatly appreciated!

If you are looking for good FREE buckets, stop by your local Dunkin Donuts and ask them for two 5 gallon ones. Just wash the icing out and you are set with two great buckets without logos!!

Just an FYI, if you are looking for another way to take this logo and stuff off, just rub (or pour) some Megs APC+ undilluted on it. I accidently spilled some when I was filling up my bottle and it went right through those logos. OPC didn't remove the logos, however.

The APC+ stripped the logos and everything but left the markings on.

Alright, so I've got my bottles from Wal-Mart labeled and ready to go. Picked up a red one for my 1:1 alcohol/water wipe-downs. Picked up 3 purple ones for my Optimum No-Rinse, one for QD, one for clay bar lube, and one to dilute my Purple Power for degreasing. So from what I can see I've got all my spray bottles.

As far buckets go I stopped at Lowe's and checked out what they have. I found ones that have dilution ratios and markings for how much liquid is in the bucket. They don't have any labels on them besides saying 5-gallon bucket, so they're good there. Also, one nice thing is they have cushion handles so they're a bit easier to carry. Picked up 2 of them so I can do the 2 bucket wash.

At this time I'm still looking around at scents and can't figure out what one I want to go with. I plan on ordering one to go with the UTTG that I'm going to purchase as well. If anyone has a suggestion I'd love to hear it. Also, if there's any other chemicals or fluids you guys recommend I'd love to hear it but I think at this time I've got them all covered...

Suggestions wanted on scents! I'd like something nice that's not going to be overpowering and that customers would enjoy. :)

Most of my customers don't like scents. For those that do, likes can be very personal.

I tried a couple free AG samples of Poorboys. Requested vanilla and like it. Received Tutti Fruti and don't, although yesterdays customer was all over it. I almost let her have the rest of the bottle.

The new Wolfgangs Trim Sealant may be made by Ultima and is the VIP this week. See Corey's great review for more info.

My favorite is stripper scent. However, I like the DP odor eliminators as well. Just detailed has a very pleasing scent.

Well, after doing some looking, it was suggested to me to use scent waffers instead of the spray scents as they generally last much longer. But as someone mentioned, most people don't like scents and would just prefer the natural scent of the interior. But for myself, I wouldn't mind getting something. Was thinking of doing with the DP ones as they seem to be the "best." I guess it just comes down to personal preference. I guess I'll pick one and order it with my UTTG. :) I'm surprised that AG doesn't list the scent waffers. I guess the only plus to the DP ones is you can use them as a fogger and a mist.

At this point I've decided to pass on the scents. The general consensus appears to be that most people don't like scents and would just prefer the natural smell of a detailed interior. The same basically goes for me anymore. I'm curious about the UTTG as well. Lately I've just used my Meguiar's Endurance tire shine for trim and it's worked really well and lasts a long time. I rarely run into a vehicle that has textured trim anymore and am curious what the difference would be in running the UTTG compared to the Meguiar's Endurance tire shine. Thanks!
