Afternoon all,

I have some very very slight mars or scuffs on the console of my new 22' Corolla hatchback. I think my gym bag when thrown in the other day scuffed the side. Also a couple spots where I dragged my dirty shoes over the kick panel or lower door trim when entering and swinging my feet in.

Is there a way to get these scuffs or very slight scratches out please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sid

Thank you sir. Magic etaser huh. Never thought that would touch scuffs or slight scratches.
I saw the heat thing on youtube, but was afraid to try and bring the flat colored trim to a gloss.

Thank you sir

I ruined some plastic with magic eraser. It’s equivalent to 3600 wet dry sandpaper. Be very careful especially if it’s gloss plastic.

Thank you guys. The two scratches are side by side vertically right next to each other. Only about an inch and a half both. Can't even feel them with your finger nail. But definitely not a smudge. Right on the lower RH side corner edge of my console. Passenger shin. The plastic is black matte in color and not really textured at all. I'm tempted to use a pencil heat gun I have for shrink tube but do not want that area to become glossy.

The Griots trim restorer that does miracles on my wifes exterior black trim does nothing to these scratches. :( I was hoping maybe to somewhat hide them.

Still thinking about this.

Plastic! Hate it. Once it gets scratched you are usually better off just replacing the offending panel(s). To get it perfect. You could try some plastic polish. Use very lightly with a MF.

Meguiars Plastx Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish - clean & polish all clear plastic panels and convertible top windows.

Another product that i have had some luck with to lessen the look of scratches, is MOTHER HEAVY DUTY TRIM CLEANER.
