Hello! My name is Jake, I am 20 years old and I live in southern Wisconsin. I have been detailing for a year and a half. I first started at local shop making $8/hr. After a year of experience I tried looking for a place I can get payed a little bit more. I now work for a dealership making $13/hr as a detailer. I want to open my own buisness, I have been actively looking into this for 6 months now. I have a name and logo picked out. Starting spring I want to be open as an exterior mobile detailing buisness. Services: Wash n Wax & Full Exterior. I'm trying to raise enough money doing this part time until I can afford to open up my own small shop and obviously work it full time. My goal is to have every single customer astonished, creating a genuine name for myself. This is what I am going to do with my life and I'm not letting ANYTHING stop me.

Can anyone help me?:props:Feed back please I need advice. And any at all would be greatly appreciated. I need advice mainly on:
-Products
-General Advice
-Legal Aspect
-Any info on purchasing a shop & what it is like for the first year.

Thank You For Reading:xyxthumbs:

Legal advice, always have a written conrtract, much easier to use in court with mechanics lien

First go back and read Mike Phillips' posts on starting your own detailing business.

Second start part time (nights, weekends) while you have a job so you can see if you can make it.

Most people want their driver clean and shiny no sense giving them a show car finish which they cannot maintain nor see the difference.

Figure your costs. Establish an hourly price then price jobs by the hours needed to do the work. Avoid the one price fits all approach. You need to get paid for your time materials, etc.
