Hello from South Carolina, glad to have found this website as detailing is a hobby I always wanted to be involved with. At this point I have several personal cars to practice on but need to learn techniques, tools, and material. The how-to videos help but a list to get started would be great. My friends call me John and feel free to do the same.

Hi John,

Welcome to Autogeek Online!

Best thing to do would be to start a thread in the Detailing 101 forum with a title like,

Help me create a product list

And then tell everyone what type of polisher you have already. If you don't have one, then that's usually the first thing to consider because working by hand on modern clear coats is difficult and time consuming if your goal is to remove swirls and scratches.

If you just want to make the swirls and scratches shiny then you can skip the machine and focus on building hand techniques.

:welcome:

Welcome John. This is a great place to learn detailing tips and the people seem pretty cool. Just watching Mike's videos will help a lot.
