Hey Mike and everyone. My name is Shane. I have a black 2013 ZL1 Camaro. I am relatively new to detailing, but becoming addicted very fast. Excited to be a member here.

My question is: what is the best sealant for painted wheels (black, clear-coated)? I would like something that works particularly well at "repelling" brake dust. My brake pads throw a ton of dust onto my wheels and they can be tricky to clean. So many options besides my normal paint sealant for the body..

Here are a few of the options I've been considering: opti-coat 2.0, GTecnniq Exo v2, CQuartz DLUX (I can also use this one for restoring some of the fading plastic trim on the car). Thanks in advance

Well, I've never used DLux, but myself and many members can attest to the goodness of Opti-Coat 2.0 in this application.

Get Opti coat 2.0 for wheels. Dlux for plastic trim. Best of both worlds.

Sent from my HTC One using AG Online

I use Collinite 845. Inexpensive and it works! Lasted on wifes car for over 9 months

Since you are willing to spend the money

Opti-Coat the wheels

You will love DLUX for black trim especially pebble textured stuff

Thank you for the great feedback everybody! OC 2.0 appears to be the winner. I'll likely take the wheels of and use that stuff. Maybe 2 coats?

My friend has some Adam's Super VRT, which I may use for the fading plastic trim instead if I'm not going with with DLUX for the wheels. Will have to make a budget-based decision on that one

I always do two coats. If you are going to have to compromise, and not fix your trim, I would reconsider using DLux for both; DLux is going to be very similar to Cquartz (just like C4 is purportedly the same thing as C1). I'm pretty sure you could do a lot worse than DLux on your wheels, just like you could do a lot better than VRT on your trim.
