I woke up today just not all that thrilled about life....didnt get much sleep, just had a feeling today was gonna suck. A guy I work with and I were crossing an ankle deep watery ditch and my iphone came out of my sweatshirt. Didnt realize it till later and then found it half submerged in the water. I knew I should never have put it in this crappy county issued sweatshirt and of course the Dept wont cover phone damages....

SO...the last two details I did, that were going to go towards my Porter Cable Job Boss are now going to my 199 iPhone replacement....

So ticked.....:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

just remember you gotta have bad days to recognize the good ones ... your turn is coming for something special and positive. Keep the faith !

It sucks you cant insure the iphone. I got insurance on my BB Tour and it I lose it or get water damage it cost me $50 and if it breaks any other way its free :)

I have two otter boxes and I was using a slide case today. As my wife told me today "Theres no reason for you to have your phone on you durring training or on medical calls, you're not allowed to answer anyway." and shes absolutely right. If I had left the phone in the truck it wouldnt have happened. Expensive lesson....

Before you toss it out - do one thing. Take a ziplock - fill it up with rice and put your phone in there and leave it overnight or for a day or two.

I left my iPhone in my cup holder in my CRV and forgot to close the sunroof and went shopping. While we away it rained and we came back to a swimming pool in the car with my Iphone floating around. The rice trick worked for me and its been working fine...

Two things to remember when you get a phone wet:
- Do not try and turn it on. Huge chance of short circuiting ...
- Put the phone in rice. Rice is a desicant and absorbs water...

Hope it helps..

I work at best buy, and we have an insurance plan for iphones bought at our store. There's no deductible should something happen to it, but it's around $12/month. I have it on my phone...better safe than sorry.

Unfortunately you have to hold the top and bottom buttons down to turn off an iPhone. The top button doesnt work so when it came to life i couldnt turn it off! Screen is fried.

I did try the rice trick and it definately got all the water out but again, screen was fried.

I had to pay 199 at the apple store today for a new one.

You're amazing man, this evening i got called from our automated Overtime Computer to pick up 24 hour OT shift at a BEACH station next saturday. We dont have much OT these days with budget cuts and the beach station is called "The Vacation Station" Because its ON the water and you might run a call once every 3 days. That more than makes up for the iPhone cost in OT!

It was my turn I guess like you said!
