I just got a bottle of Iron-x lemon scent. I will be comparing it the original iron-x when detailing a friends VW mkV GTI so stay tuned for that.

But today, I'm curious what other people think of the scent.

My opinion, and I am being completely serious: it smells like roasted Szechuan peppercorns combined with a terrible fart. I think I prefer the cherry scent.

Used IronX LS about a week and a half ago. Reminds me of when my grandma gave herself a perm. The neighbor came out and asked me what that smell was. LOL Smelled worse definitely smelled better. The stuff does work though.

Iron X is a HORRIBLE smelling product..... but dang if it don't work great.

I actually like the normal scent better now. I guess I got used to it?

:eek::)

Interesting that you would know how that combination smells.....:eek:

Well it took me a little while to figure it out. I opened the container to take a whiff; I knew the non-rotten egg part of the smell was familiar. I went through our spice cabinet to figure out which one it was...it was the szechuan peppercorns (they have a musky citrus smell that will make your nose burn just a little). When my wife got home, she ask if our 2 year old had soiled his diaper because it smelled like he had, then she took a whiff of the IX-LS and just about fell over.

I couldn't agree more, it will stay in my aresenal regardless of the odor. I will use up at least a portion of the lemon scent bottle to see if I get more acclimated to it. I definitely got more acclimated to the cherry scent after using nearly a liter.

It's been said that if you smell it straight out of the bottle, it will still be pretty bad, but once you spray it and the liquid is atomized the smell is more pleasant than the cherry... I have not tried Lemon Scent yet as I still have 1/3 of a gallon of Cherry left.
