Ironx bleeding hours later

@OP:

If your door trim/moulding is as pictured in the following link's diagram #2...
You may be in Luck!!

2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX Parts - GM Parts | GM Accessories | GM Parts House Store

Looks as though it's an "applique"...
Affixed with double-sided tape (3M, no doubt).

Hopefully with no clips/drilled holes being hidden behind the trim piece.

The extra bleeding may be IronX still doing its thing on contaminates
that sneaked in and filled some voids.

The Greek physicians of old, let leeches do the 'bleeding'.
Imagine if they would have had some IronX back then!!

No offense Bob, but you can't always trust sites like that all the time. Tasca parts is the same way, they use very basic diagrams. If you look at the actual door of a 2007 Equinox, you'll see the trim is recessed into the door.

Now if you go to GM's collision catalog, you'll see there are holes behind that trim.

No offense Bob

^^^None taken :)^^^

And...Thanks for the above info Chris!
(Hey, BTW...I thought you were a: Blue Oval Man!! LOL)

As such...Then I'll go by my original suggestion to the OP:

IMO...
You really need to remove this particular bloody trim-piece
for further inspection...remediation if needed---for rust, or otherwise.

I suppose the OP may not be as "Lucky" as I was hoping.

... anyways, back to the thread.

Just today I have had a similar incident on my dark blue metallic Buick Regal. While rinsing the IronX today I recalled this thread and took extra precautions to rinse, rinse, rinse, and rinse some more. Needless to say as I was rinsing there was a river of purple water running down the street in front of my drive way. I really wish I'd have rinsed the car on the concrete and took more video than I did.

Anyway, about 2 1/2 hours after I dried the car and while I was doing a test spot with XMT 360 and DG 501/601...I noticed this pencil lead sized streak about 6 inches long on my paint right at the passenger emblem and below it where the trim is. It started at the trim and ran straight down onto the bottom of the door.

In a hurry, I grabbed the water hose and a micro-fiber cloth and began spraying it with water again. I could not wipe it off. So now I don't know what to do.

My initial rinse was a long spray from the nozzle then real good flooding of about 15 minutes using tons of water without the nozzle. If this car had of been white it would have looked like someone had cut its throat.

Incidently, I hadn't cleaned the wheels in quite some time. Yesterday evening I used Mothers Foaming All Wheel Cleaner and I love it. Tonight I used some IronX on the wheels and I can tell you that the Mothers must have done a real thorough job of loosening contaminents because I didn't see much purple coming from the wheels which surprised me. Before using the Mothers cleaner the wheels were caked with brake dust.

In reality, I probably should have just used the IronX in the first place and saved the Mothers for future maintenance cleanings.
