is a flex 3401 good for a beginner???

I don't think I've seen anybody else say that they didn't like the Flex...




Going down to 3" with a backing plate that much larger can be a risky business...

I guess it depends on the car/panel you are working. On my sky for example I'd have a hard time near the curves and stuff.

How do you center the pad. I was just thinking about this and I bet if you took some white paint and centered your different size pads with a ruler one at a time and then put 4 white tiny dots. around them it would aid in making thise very easy from then on. Just be carefull with the type of paint you use. Maybe an even better idea. Heat up a coat hanger or paper clip and melt like (1) of the velcro fibers at each quadrant of each size pad. Then you don't have any paint on there.
