Is Duragloss #111 considered the pre-wax cleaner?

before I apply my sealant so that it has a clean surface to bond to and I want to remove some very light marring and I don't want to remove any paint.

No, 111 is a sealant. 601 Polish Bonding Agent is the pre-"wax" cleaner in the DG line.

I believe a lot of those formulas were developed in the 70's. I imagine the bulk of their sales aren't from the types who are on forums.

However, it would probably help them to merge with modern, universally professional terminology.

Personally I couldn't care less what they call the product, as long as the performance claims match the description on the bottle. It's going to take me more than an outdated heading to keep me from using their stuff.

It's a great cleaner. Apply with a white pad on a DA and you won't believe how dirty the pad will get.

101 and 105 contain polymer sealants and non-abrasive cleaners. 111 is just a polymer sealant with no cleaners as far as the Duragloss website is concerned.

It was certainly common for anything you wiped on your car (or furniture) that was intended to make it shine to be called a "polish". Heck, Zaino calls their sealants "polish" (hmmm...what an odd coincidence), and even Pledge was a "furniture polish". Pledge now seems to call theirs a "furniture spray" but what do you figure the cut was on the Meguiar's 1-10 scale back when they called it a "polish"?

Speaking of Meguiar's, how can they call #7 Show Car "Polish", when it's non-abrasive?

Interesting. You’re bashing duragloss for what you think are incorrectly named products. Yet you’re referring to their line of sealants as all waxes.

Although I agree that DG could use better verbiage on their bottles there's enough info here on them that will steer you into the correct product. Maybe someone can chime in on how or if a product like #105 can in fact correct soft paint or at least make it look better when using an RO and orange pad persay?
