I just applied my Deep gloss paint sealant and the sun is coming out. I don't really have access to a garage without going to the other end of town. Is it ok to let it cure in the sun?

Not really...

The sun is going to dry it faster than it would normally dry and this will tend to make it more difficult to wipe it off...

If you applied a very thin coating it might not be too bad but the temperature of your car's paint will easily exceed 160 degrees and higher depending upon the color and your location...

Can you drive it to a shady place? Like a closed gas station with cover over the island? Or a large building that's throwing shade to one side?

That or wipe it off now and try again when conditions are better...

:)

Well, I managed to get it applied and dried for 45 mins in the shade. Then I wiped it off and all looks good. I was wondering about the 12 hr cure time in the sun. If all the above is done is it fine to leave in the sun for the 12 hrs or should I still seek shade?

I thought ppl only did this in Memphis(lol) What about all the dust particles that land on the paint?

If you leave it in the sun for 12 hours you are essenitially baking it onto your paint. I would imagine it would be very difficult to remove.

Does not need to cure on paint for 12 hours! You will have a hard time removing any product if you let it sit for 12 hours.

Yes, once you have applied, let haze, and buffed it off it should be fine to park in the sun again. Sun won't hurt it but water will. Try to keep it out of water for the full 12 hours. For instance if the car is parked outside I wouldn't add a sealant later in the day. Come night time the dew will compromise the sealants bond with the paint.

Thanks that is what I was looking for. I guess I was not clear in my first post but the product was removed after the 45 mins dry time. I tried to clarify in my second post. I knew to avoid moisture for the 12 hrs but wasn't sure if I should avoid sun for the 12 hrs it takes to totally adhere to the paint.

another question if I may. I am considering putting a coat of fuzion on tomorrow morning over the 3.0 sealant. My understanding is that the fuzion can be removed right away.

1. Can I drive the car right away after applying fuzion or should I leave it for a period of time?
2. As well, there is a chance of showers tomorrow night, will it hurt the fuzion if it does rain?

Ideally I would wait for a clear day but would want to coat with fuzion immed. after sealant. I also live in Atlantic Canada and difficult to get favorable weather conditions. I now want a garage for detailing!!

I've used other carnuba's over 3.0 and there's no need to wait after you buff the carnuba off. It's just like applying it to bare paint.

You apply the sealant let it cure for about half an hour and then wipe it off. The 12 hours is the amount of time you have to keep the paint dry after that. Deep Gloss sealant has to stay dry for 12 hours after being applied in order for it to finish bonding to the paint. You don't apply the stuff to the paint and then leave it on there for 12 hours.

Yes Fuzion is a wipe on-wipe off wax. You can drive your car as soon as you're done applying & wiping off the Fuzion. You don't have to let it sit/cure for any amount of time.
It won't hurt the Fuzion if it gets rained on.The Deep Gloss Sealant is the only product I know of that requires absolute dryness to cure.

oops I wiped it off soon as It dried to a haze.
I thought you put it on let dry to haze, Take it off, and then let it sit for 12 hours then wax. The Bottle says let dry to a haze.

didnt know you put it on let sit there for 12 hours then wipe off

I tried this with a half and half on my hood with Souveran, and it was not a good idea. The half I put Souveran on right after the WGDGS fogged up after a few weeks as shown here

I would wait 12 hours before putting on Carnuba

If I understand things correctly, you don't. 12 hours is dry time after product removal as I understand it.

Yeah I wouldn't either. If it dries too long it can be hard to remove. I missed a spot or two once and the next time I washed the car I couldn't WASH it off! I kept scrubbing it with the soap and rinsing, but it took three or four tries.

I guess that's why it lasts so long.
