About to give McKee's 37 Paint Coating a run on the family hauler (2014 Toyota HL Limited) and I was wondering if this coating was trim save. Did some digging and could not find an answer yay or nay. My go to for trim has been WG Trim Sealant which has been good and last a few months but if this coating is ok I'd like to give it a test run. Thanks all!!

ive used this product a lot but have never really directly applied to to the trim and cant think of anytime that ive got It on any trim parts. it flashes very quickly and actually I have put it on the black plastic around the side mirrors and those seem to be fine. they are not rubber but it has not effected the black plastic.

Great question.

Is it safe for the trim? Absolutely. Is it going to restore or provide long lasting protection for the trim? No.

Paint = McKee's 37 Paint Coating
Trim = Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant

Thanks Nick, good to know!! I don't have to be super OCD and tape off trim while applying the coating. I'll just stick to my dedicated trim sealant....thanks for the quick replies!!

Is McKee's 37 Coating Prep Polish black trim safe?

It will actually mke your smooth trim look new again. Someone one here found out by mistake and I have been using it to clean/restore smooth trim then top with Sonax PNS or BSD.

You didn't think to top with the Mckee's Coating?

I have. But the Sonax gives it that just right sheen.

But the Paint Prep Polish makes smooth black trim look new? I'm totally trying that on the Tacoma tomorrow. Sounds interesting, thx.

Yes. I believe it was Cleanmycorolla that posted about it working on trim after he accidentally hit some trim with it. Works good on rubber around the windows. Give it a try, let me know what you think.
