Is my clay mitt shot?

Hi everyone. I have a Nanoskin clay mitt that I used twice last summer. I mistakingly put it in the package with the clay facing the cardboard packaging and some of the outer layer of the cardboard stuck to my mitt. If I soak it in water and remove the cardboard is it still usable or should I just toss it? Thanks!

I would try running the mitt some warm/hot water for a minute(see/agitate as you go). Being that it has the properties to just wash away contaminates if dropped, I think this method might solve your issue.
 
It sounds salvageable. But regardless, don’t toss it just yet. A banged up claymitt comes in handy for claying glass and other undesirable areas.

I’ve had mine look like that from being inside a plastic baggie. All faded looking and not sticky. +1 to what Eldorado suggested + some warm water to make the rubber more pliable :)

Ok cool I’ll do that. I am picking up a clay kit to use until I get the mitt I’m working condition. Thinking about it the mitt marred my car a bit last year too so I’m not all that upset that I can’t use it haha. Thanks!

Yepp, i know exactly what you're talking about with the marring. In my experience the mitt's compound is just really stiff, that's why I've incorporated the warm/hot water when using it :)

I use a cheapo kettle boiler from any retail bargain store, heat up the water and pour the water in a bucket and drop my mitt in there to let it get soft.

I also do this for my clay bars as well and it's simply amazing how easily you can manipulate the clay after that. Give it a try! And hope it helps you!
