I have heard priming pad with QD, but I am confused is QD Sam as spray wax?

No.

QD's have some cleaning ability in the them while "true" spray waxes do not and will leave behind protection.

A quick or spray detailer is for removing,

  • Light dust
  • Smudges
  • Fingerprints
  • In emergencies, bird droppings
I other words it's for removing contaminants safely off a car's finish and most will leave the paint looking clear and shiny and in some cases slick.

A spray-on wax adds some type of protection be it Carnauba Wax or a synthetic sealant and in some cases some of both types of protection ingredients.

You normally wouldn't use a spray-on wax to remove dust, or other contaminants off the paint.

You would use a spray detailer to first clean the paint and follow this with a spray-on waxy to renew the protection and create that just waxed appearance.

Good question and a very common question...

:)

I used some Mothers QD to remove some tree sap yesterday...it did a good job. The sap was on the car for less than 24 hours. I was not happy the sap was on the car considering the day prior I had just put on a layer of Poorboys EX-P. But on the brightside I think it was better that the PB EX-P protection was there! Lesson learned, do not park under trees at friends house!
