Is something wrong with Flex?

So i preordered the flex xfe7 15mm DA cordless. I’m just getting into machine polishing and the idea of not having a cord sounds really appealing to me. While I’m waiting for it to arrive the last month or two I’ve been doing a lot of reading on Autogeek. Seems like almost every time someone’s looking for advice every one recommends the GG or rupes polishers. Mike Phillips obviously likes the flex brand but I’m pretty sure he can use just about anything and make a car look good.

So am I just reading to much while waiting for the flex to come in or did I make a mistake and should I switch it up now?
 
I think you will be very pleased with what you have when you get it. You will hear all sides on what is best. Get good with the one you bought, use it correctly, often and don't look back. I personally own 2 Flex machines and 1 Rupes and I love every one of them.

Relax, bud. Like joleyred says, just get used to your machine that YOU picked.

You picked it for a reason..... It suits your needs.

AG is a double-edged sword sometimes. You gain a ton of info, but after a purchase, you read "X Y &Z" are better, then start chewing your nails off.

I'm sure your new FLEX will be great.
 
You'll be very happy with the xfe-7. Its a very smooth and quiet tool!

Flex also has fantastic customer support in case something does go wrong.

I have 3 flex machines and 2 rupes. They're all great for certain things! PE14 and xfe-7 are two of my favorites though!
 
flex tools are high quality and their QC is very good. if you ever have problems they have a numerous repair facilities around the USA (powerhouse distributing to name one) and many have said their CS is great as well..

Nothing wrong with the flex as far as I know. Only having a 15mm long throw now thats another story. They really struggle on curved panels. I would argue there will be panels on a car like front fenders that you will get almost no correction on with a long throw.

If I could only have 1 I would take the flex 3401 every time cordless or not
 
I started with with a Griot's Garage 6 inch random orbital (which I still have) then moved to a Flex 3401. While I'm interested in the long throw machines, the 3401 does everything I need it to and have been extremely happy with it.
 
It seems to me that both the Flex owners and the Rupes owners are very happy with their machines. In fact, I've never heard owners of either brand say they regret their purchases. As in never - in dozens of threads. I suspect both brands are both quite good.
