Is the SEMA Flex available?

The one you pictured is production #0001, special, exclusive carbon fiber red body. It was presented to Max for being awesome and is one of a kind. Mike P. got #0002, normal red body, the likes of which will be available to purchase 2011.

I'm waiting for serial 0001 of their next invention. The Uranium T35 Radioactive Edition FLEX polisher. ;) Still, getting the first one wrapped is a way cool idea!! How many tool manufacturers do that? Actually, how many serial 0001 tools have you seen?

That rotary is definitely on my 2011 shopping list. I can go back to detailing boats and RVs once I get my hands on one of those.

It's definitely a must purchase next year. I'm sure the first shipment is going to go as fast as they come in.

Mike - do you know if AG is going to have a pre-order on them?

Ooh.... Mike your LUCKY !! The carbon fiber caught my eye. I just got my flex 3401, a little intimidated by rotaries. Then again I was kinda nervous about the 3401 until I followed all your advise...

There is only one red carbon fiber and Max owns that one. But that polisher will be available for sale in 2011, just not in red carbon fiber, only one of those.

Wow! I would have it in case as a show piece!! Is that polisher a huge difference from the 3401, and do the pads interchange?

It is a very different machine. The 3401 is a DA polisher similar to the Porter Cable 7424. This one is a rotary machine and much much different.

Do rotaries really burn the paint easy, or is it over exaggerated?

VERY easily. You can melt the paint right off a car if you wanted to. These are not for everyday paint correction. For most late model daily drivers you can get by just fine with the 3401. The rotary tools are more advanced and for more serious paint correction. The only time I ever bust out a rotary is for boats or RVs. I just don't ever run into cars that really need the extra power. They are important tools to have and know how to operate, but I would strongly suggest finding someone familiar with them to walk you through the process. I know Mike Phillips has some great training videos out there on them. Don't just pick one up and try polishing out your car though. That is a good way to get some really messed up paint.

Thank you so much! I thought there was a next level to detailing that I was missing. Good to knw that I'm good with my Flex 3401 it really works wonders. I studied Mr.Phillip videos before using it, fearing I might damage something. Thanks Again!

Anthony, that's not an entirely accurate statement; the 3401 is a DA, but it's not similar to the Porter Cable 7424. The 3401 is a forced-rotation (gear driven) DA, whereas the PC7424 is a free-rotating spindle assembly DA which will stop spinning under heavy load.

Not that you didn't know that but for those not aware of the differences it's important to note.
