Is there any routine maintenance for Porter Cable 7424 XP???

Thank you

I might suggest wiping it down after each session and removing any excess polish and wax from its surfaces and backing plates.

Thanks..

So I don't need to lubricate the polisher or any other parts

By the way, I think I read somewhere here about adding a washer to backing plate...

Is it necessary to do that?

You should use the washer that came with the pc. It keeps the backing plate from hitting the tool itself and slows down heat transfer to the backing plate.

I got no washer came with pc...

You might want to read the owner's manual.
My PC7336 has a section on keeping the tool clean by blowing out air passages with dry compressed air,
They also recommend a 100 hour inspection and service to be performed by an authorized service facility.

Like Dana said, it should have came in a plastic bag in the bottom of the box...Looks like this.

Still cannot find one like this. Is it plastic or metal one?

Can I just use regular washer to put on?

Thanks

Go to Lowe's and find one. It's not like a little washer is rare or anything.

I would make sure you get the same kind of material that matches the metals it is in contact with. Avoid galvanic reaction. If the screw is 300 series stainless steel get a 300 series stainless washer

Thanks guys...

found one dirty washer in my toolbox:xyxthumbs:
