Just used Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel for the first time today, and it just would not stay on my applicator. I used a brand new cobra flex tire swipe and then tried a brand new cobra tire dressing pad and it kept dribbling straight on the floor, it wouldn't soak into the applicator.

I've gotta say I got kinda pissed when it kept going straight on the floor. The consistency was that of water, is this normal?

Consistancy of water.....thats not normal! Those two applicators don't really soak the product in since they are designed to allow the product to be transferred to the tire......but the BDTG is definately thicker than water. I would try giving AG a call as their customer service is top notch and maybe u just got a bad batch. Did u try shaking it???

I shook it like a mad man for like 3 minutes but nothing changed. I wil make a short video to show what I mean tomorrow. If you still think it is not normal then I will give AG a call, only thing is I am an international customer so sending it back to them is rather hard.

It still dressed the tire nicely (well I wil judge that when I see it in the full sun tomorrow rather than just my garage lights tonight).

Thanks,
Matt

Consistancy of water is too thin. I have 2 gallons of the stuff and it is thinner than I was expecting but definately not water.... Im thinking like dawn dish soap consistancy. Still "movable" but not as this as water.

Matt,

Tire Gel means just that; a gel or sort of creamy in consistency. There's nothing watery about this product at all. I'd give the customer service folks a call and I'm certain they send you a replacement.

I've used Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel several times over the summer and found it to be a great product.

That's what I expected, I also have Pinnacle Black Onyx tire gel. Is it supposed to be the same consistency as this?

I might shoot someone an email at AG when I get home from work this afternoon and see what they can do.

How'd you get it on the tire?? Last I heard it was on the floor :dunno:
A little transferred to the applicator, but it mainly pooled on the top like oil on water and it was a delecate balancing act to try and get the face of the applicator on the tire without moving the applicator to a vertical position first.

I'll show you in the video I make of the consistency this afternoon.

A tip that may help u here is to rub it into the applicator with ur finger then apply to the tire.

It should be the same consistency as the Pinnale onyx.

NOT watery at all. You should for sure call or email AG for a repalcement IMO. its a very expensive product and you should get it in its ideal form.

should be close to maple syrup

Ah ok then there is definitely something wrong with it. I wil make a video tonight and shoot it off to AG customer service.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Ok so here are the videos:

In the Black Diamond one, you can see how runny the liquid is compared with the Pinnacle Black Onyx gel with it's maple syrup consistency in the second video.

Honestly, and I have never used either of these, it looks like the Pinnacle is oil-based and the Wolfgang is water-based and was simply beading up on the Pinnacle you had on your applicator. However, I'll obviously defer to those who have used these products and wait for their response.

PS Make sure you wipe up the floor that will make a slippery spot!

They're all different applicators, I you look closely you can see that the conbra flex in the pinnacle has a yellow backing and the Wolfgang has a red backing, and that the Wolfgang round yellow applicator is much cleaner on the back than the pinnacle. The Wolfgang is black because I was scrubbing it over the tires to try and get some to transfer onto the tire.

The applicators used for the Wolfgang were brand new when I used them two days ago and had never seen any other tire dressing other than that bottle of Wolfgang (as per my OP).

Thanks for having a look though

Yea I sent Dwayne an email last night so hopefully he'll get it Monday morning.

Once again AG's customer service has come through. Dwayne has sourced a bottle that is "good" and is going to get a replacement out to me.

Thanks for your help guys and Dwayne.

Glad to hear that. AG customer service never fails!!!

A little late reaction, but Black Diamond Tire gel has no milky color. It is transparant. It looks like this gel is not good at all.

Better late than never.

Even though I've solved it, I still appreciate your repsonse as it will help anyone else looking through this thread.

Best regards,
Matt
