I know everyone has seen this color Deville around before, but it's throwing me off as if it's a dark or light color. It changes depending on the day it seems. What do you think?

I would say light, but it's at the dark end of the light colours.

I'd say light. If for nothing else, because I bet it doesn't show every minor swirl or hologram, like a dark color does.

Seems I wasn't alone on this. I ask because I was trying to figure out if Poorboy's White Diamond or Black Hole would work better on it.

Now that I keep looking at it, I change my answer to light.

What is the actual "color" that GM/Cadillac calls it?
IMO, get that info and compare it with the other available "colors" for that model year.

You say: "It changes depending on the day it seems"
Do you mean: 'depending on time of day' ? If so, IMO, what a nice feature to have.

Maybe the only true way to find where this 'color' fits into the Visible light spectrum is by use of spectrophotometry?

Do one side with Black Hole, one side with White Diamond. The customer is unlikely to notice and you can determine which looks best. (half kidding...):joking:

Cadillac calls it Cashmere one year and light Cashmere another year, in the same generation, so it's a little confusing.

Well, kinda both, Like it changes colors during the day depending on how the light hits it, it can be lighter or darker, but then at the same time of day on two different says, it still looks different.

I would say light, and here is the reason:

True color should only be classified as "light" or "dark" depending on how it looks directly in the sun.

If dark hues still remain dominant as showing on the lower half of the panels, then I would push it in the direction of dark...

However if the lighter hues remain constant in direct sunlight, without a doubt I would go with light.

Just my opinion!!! Hope it helps make a decision!

Exactly what I was thinking. I would consider it light - but I could see the black hole still being beneficial.
