Hi all! First post here.
I live in San Francisco and there is this crap looking stuff that appears to simply fall from the sky. I call it skyshit. I could wash my car, totally clean, park it outside and 3 hours later have these little guys on there.

Anyone have an idea as to what it may be and where it comes from?

Looks like Bee Poop to me. Just use a Quick Detailer or Waterless Wash to quickly remove it from the paint surface.

To keep it from happening, you might need to change the color of your car.

HA! i was waiting for that one!
It lands on all my cars, weird stuff though. and there aren't any bees around. I park it south of market.

Apparently birds fly in the sky too. And sometimes they poop.

since you mentioned Bee poop, I looked for pictures of Bee crap. my coworkers had a lot of fun laughing at me while sifting through pictures of feces. but yup, it's from bees. crazy, i never really see bees near my car.

It can happen anywhere, especially when bees are actively pollinating flowering plants. If you were near a bee farm or areas with hives, your car would have a TON more spots all over it.

That is crap that comes from the very rare 3 peckered Polynesian dragonfly. I can tell by the color and curvature that their is a nest within 12 feet of where you park. They stay within 14 ft of their nest. Simply try moving your car another 2 ft one way or the other until you no longer see the poop...

It is hard to catch them darn bees pooping on your car. Perhaps leave some tiny little newspapers on the hood. When they drop a deuce while relaxing with the paper, you have a chance of catching them.
