Is this the right Wax for me?

Thats a bitching car bro. I've been wanting an old 3 series like that. Or maybe even something like those 2002ti's from the early seventies. Someday maybe. Funny though I use to see a car very similar to yours, even down to the color, in the campus parking lot. Haven't seen it this year though but it was a cool looking car as well.

Which campus? Cal Poly?

DP Max Max, Pinnacle SSII, Liquid Souveran would be my choices.
Very easy on/off applications.

Another good choice would be Poorboy's Natty Blue. A little harder application on/off.

I think I’m going to go with the Pinnacle SII.

Hopefully you can confirm my steps. This is what I plan on doing.

Wash the car with Gold Class (I have a huge jar of this), clay with Mothers Clay Bar, Polish with Menzerna IP, Seal with Klasse SG, and Wax with SII.

Is this correct? Should I be using a finishing polish after the Menzerna IP such as the Menzerna FP or Klasse AIO?

If these are the correct steps what pads are best associated with the product. I will also be purchasing LC Yellow, White, Grey, and Blue pads to have in my arsenal.

IP is the lesser agressive of the two right? If it is, there's no need for a finishing glaze. Only use that with heavy polishing.

Day 1: Wash, Clay, Polish, Seal
Day 2: Seal or Wax
Day 3: Wax
Day 4: Wax if needed

What I'm saying is you can apply two coats of sealant first, or just one, and one coat of wax.

Or you can do two coats of sealant, and two coats of wax. (I'd do this, personally)

Take it easy...

If your paint is in good shape with no major scratches or swirls, do not use the IP with a yellow. Thats a very aggressive combo, and dusty.
After the clay:
FPII with an orange - slowly - check out polishing video on site
FPII with a black - quickly - search here for killer's 'jewelling' thread - the best trick yet
50/50 iso-alcohol wipe by hand to remove any residual grit
AIO with white
SG with grey or blue (I believe SG wants the AIO base coat to work best)
SII by hand - check my gallery for my 325, this process except Souveran

Do not IP/yellow unless the first FPII will not remove marks, then spot use only. This is compounding, not polishing.
Where in LA are you?

Hey thanks JSR. I read up on the IP and the Yellow pads. I dont think my paint needs that. I take really good care of the car, and now that I have another project this one doesnt see regular road use. Its a weekend car. I'll take you up on that advice.

I was born and raised in El Monte/Temple City, moved to Whittier when I was 19, and now I live in Corona off the 60 closer to my work. I got some buddies out in Redondo.

Go with JSR's recommendation. That would pretty much set you up for a really nice looking car.

Sure was. This is possibly one of the rarest E21 colors around. I have only seen 1 other Resedagreen E21, and it was a grey market 323.

I dont drive that car there anymore. People are haters, I had a soda dumped on the hood, and it dried completly by the time I got to it. Some also wrapped my tires with duct tape, and people always mess with my mirrors.

The 6 stays in the storage shed (more like a big tent in the driveway). I have a company truck that I use during the week, and my other DD is a 98 Accord.

Wow that really sucks. That almost sounds like a personal attack against you. You'd think that kind of valdalism wouldn't happen on campus but I guess not. I usually just have to worry about the idiots that don't care about their car and just throw the car door open hitting the cars next to them.

What a cool picture of the Preying Mantis! I love the color of the car.

It's a real shame when people mess with your hard work. Doesn't it always seem that the people that take absolutely no care of their cars never have any dents, scratches or swirls? How does that work?
