Is this what DP Polycoat looks like?

Some of the first bottles I used the product was pretty thick but it worked just fine, here's a picture of a bead of product on the face of a Crimson Finishing pad the first time I sealed the paint on Behemoth in this thread,

Behold Behemoth! - Cleaned & Sealed with DP Poli-Coat

The DP Poli-Coat Paint Sealant is a fairly thick product compared to other sealants...

Like a said, it seem to work just fine as I only applied one coat the paint on Behemoth was still in excellent condition with good gloss and shine after 7 months...

Tip: Frequent car care equals fast and easy car care...
(In this case a truck)

If it squeezes out and has a uniform appearance like you see in the picture above my guess is that's it's still perfectly okay to use...

:)

Mine wouldn't go on a pad that smooth, Mike. It has a bit of a lumpy look but not a lumpy feel! I have it soaking in some hot water now..... maybe that'll cure it!

That's not a bad idea, I've done this several times with other products and it seemed to work well. Maybe squeezing half the product out in a cup allowing for a bit more shaking / mixing room might help as well.

The earlier batches were a bit thicker. It is normal and the product does not work any differently than the newer, thinner batches.

Well the hot water did not work but Matt's above post makes me feel a lot better. Thanks Matt for the info!

I bought mine this summer on BOGO and it was definitely more of a thick, liquid. I was thinking that DP made some changes to different products to suit customer requests, or at least they made changes to the smell of some products. I figure there may have been a change in formula of the Poli-coat as well. Instead of shaking it, try to stir it up to see if that changes anything and just wipe your stirring stick off on the pad you use to apply the sealant to your paint (don't want to waste any!). Otherwise, I'd just use it as-is; it won't hurt your paint any.
