Is Volkswagen using Ceraciclear for 2014?

PPG ceramiclear trademarked to Mercedes and only Mercedes. Like self healing was to Infiniti/Nissan. VW is probably using a harder clear similar to Audi. They most likely mix some ceramics into it, but they are not the same.

Also the "C" on the door tag is only in the states. Mine doesn't look like that.

VW salesmen are generally well trained as part of their certification program. It is something that would be known whether or not it is a sales point. I'm not in sales, but the point is that if the car had a special clear coat on it, it would be known and personally I know the cars just as well as a salesmen.

How far does that training go? I recently picked up a new VW and my salesman couldn't tell me where the oil filter was nor what type it was, i.e. filter element inside a cover vs. an all-in-one cartridge. His response to the question was, "I have no idea, I just bring mine if for service and let the techs figure it out". I liked the guy, he provided the best customer service I've ever had from a dealer...he just didn't know the basic mechanicals of the car.

If it is just. 'Normal' VW paint then my go-to combo is

Heavy hitting Fg400 / orange or mf pad

Medium pf2500 /tangerine

Light (or refining step on dark colors post fg400) SF 4000/ crimson

Is this your approach for heavy damamage correction, or is this pretty standard for all the vehicles due to the hardness of the paint?
