My father once again hired me to detail the exterior of his truck. Pretty simple. Decontaminate the paint/wheels with Iron-X, Wash, clay, seal with Meg's, wax with Pinnacle. Did some small scratch corrections as well. Came out decent enough.

Looks good. You don't use any product on plastics?

Not today I didn't.

Can anyone reco a good product to use on the mirrors, etc.? Thanks

If you don't want to worry about the plastic trim for awhile you could use Carpro Dlux or Wolf's nano trim coat. I used the wolf's coating on recommendation from another member on all the plastic on my Grand Cherokee. Looks good and is holding up well so far. Going on a month.

Thanks for the reco's guys. I'll try out one of those products. Yea, a 2011 Chevy with 16K miles isn't that hard but when the guy doesn't polish it at all then there are some issues.

Ain't it grand when you can work with brand new? It looks very nice.

Well don't get me wrong, he uses it to tow the car trailer you see there, we use it to get ice for parties, stone dust, etc. It gets lots of use between him and his sons and son in law ( :) ) so it does get scratched. I was able to get out lots if not all of the minor scratches in the clear coat.

Meguiar's Ultimate LIQUID Wax. Super thin, apply, wipe off after just a minute or two. I use it on ALL the exterior plastic on my 'Silverado.'

Looks great mate . DLux s pretty good on matt from what I read on some swanic threads .

Try CarPro DLux. Those mirrors are screaming for it. Its a trim coating. It lasts up to a year, but people have been actually getting a year out of it.

If you don't want to go with a coating, I would use Prima Infinity.
