Hello fellow Autogeekers,

I wanted to take a second and introduce myself to the forum as well as send out many thanks to all of you who have posted and taught me so much over the last few months as I have scoured the website for detailing answers and ideas many-a-time.

I am originally from Chicago and first began detailing cars in 1994 when I was 12 years old. My dad and I "restored" a 1965 Mustang Convertible that I took great pride in and was constantly waxing it and shining the chrome. I had no idea what I was doing other than reading the labels on the bottles and talking to the display guys at the annual auto show in Chicago.

Fast forward a few years, I began detailing my own car and realized I really enjoyed keeping cars clean and making them look, feel and smell new. I made some business cards and went door to door asking if I could detail cars to help pay my way through college. The sob story/request worked great and I made really good money and worked really hard for a few summers, but after graduation from college went on to work in the investment industry for about 10 years.

Most recently, I left the suit and tie and the cold winters and moved to San Diego where I opened a detail shop downtown. I have had the pleasure of meeting a lot of great people in San Diego and have seen and worked on nicer cars than I could imagine. It's been hard, stressful, fun and rewarding all in one, but I definitely do not miss wearing a suit everyday.

As for my shop, we detail everything from daily drivers to high end luxury and exotics. In the last 2 weeks, I have detailed a RR Phantom, a Honda Accord, a Bentley GT and a Nissan Sentra. I just completed a paint correction on a Range Rover and a G35. I will create a separate post for those, but wanted to give an introduction first and most importantly say thank you again to all of you who contribute so much time and energy educating everyone on processes/methods, etc... You guys have been an invaluable resource for me and I look forward to sharing my limited knowledge with you guys going forward.

Welcome!

Hard to believe you left Windy City winters for sunny California, LOL!

Lived in Rancho Bernardo for 2 years in the early 90's...I miss the SoCal weather. Welcome.

Ha, I didn't even notice that. Truth be told, I didn't even detail the interior this go-round, just the exterior, but I loved the pic.

My dad tells me this all the time. I'm a strong swimmer though.
