Its time to raise your car price - TIME factor

I am very impressed with the comprehensiveness. I have read however, that if one is going to sell a car, the engine should not look perfectly clean and dressed, ect, because it says to the potential buyer that the car has just been detailed. It makes one wonder if the car had any kind of oil leaks, ect that had slowly been developing, which the extensive detail removed the evidence of. I read that the best appearance is a light coating of dust, so that the car appears as if it has never had any leaks and has been well maintained on a consistent basis, so basically, you detail a really dirty engine maybe 3 weeks before sale and you drive it as usual, then detail the exterior right before sale. I tend to agree with this approach. I'm curious of others' opinions.

thanks thornone

Wow that is brilliant.....yuppp that really proves the authenticity of the car actual condition

Great work as always! Looking forward to the the next one. Thanks for posting and teaching Kc!

You did another great job on the car and the write up was terrific.

When I first looked at your heading I thought you were saying that it is time to raise the prices that you charge to detail.

Speaking of that, I haven't found one detailer on AG that charges what I think is enough for their work. There is a lot of time, skill, knowledge, overhead and hard work involved. I know that you want repeat customers and that every detail doesn't entail a major paint correction but how do you make any money?

Thanks Sharpcard for yr kind words

I do agree - that is a lot of time, skill, knowledge, overhead and hard work invested in each & every detail -

a minute spent is a minute died, imagine spending hours to do each - we literary died to our task -

whenever I am tempted to cut corners - skip certain issue not corrected - I remind myself - I am going to miss out a big blessing

true enough - For eg - there was this E60 i detail, I was so stress out, after spending 8 full hours to detail & a lousy soft repainted correction
I just feel like walk away & i did - I told the owner I spent too much time cleaning yr interior ...& it is not my customary to leave yr car undone - but I have to finish the next day (the 1st day I work 11 hours) & came back the second day another 10 hours

Because I took my time to study the paint & over come it - with lots of pictures ...i wrote out the most elaborated detailing guide

And it is because of my hard work - the owner ask me to detail another 3 cars - one of which was the 911 carrera S, which he actually waited for 4 months for me...I will never walk away - as there is always nuggets of gold to be picked

He told his uncle & relative - about me.....Free publicity & testimony

Imagine if i would have walk away - I lost this great blessing

You sow what u reap & your harvest will be bountiful

Thanks for asking :xyxthumbs:
