Prologue:
After the arrival of my new detailing-friend Ivan Karstuff…
We discussed if he would be interested in detailing a Corvette Club
friend of mine's: Low-Low-mileage/always-garage-kept ZR1.
Assuring me that he would take on this project after a little bit of shut-eye…
(and to prove, from what I discerned from his facial expressions:
That other folks’ opinions of his detailing-prowess were, indeed, infallible!)…
To Wit:
I then called the ZR1 owner to tell him we’d be over
first thing in the morning…03.01.2013…
Like a Lion!!
Today, Friday, March 1st, 2013:
Due to his work schedule…We didn’t meet with the ZR1 owner but,
per his instructions the night before, he left the key-fob and the
garage door opener... where they were easily obtained.
NOTE:
Bringing along my “fancy” Cool Pix. I'm going to
attempt to document Ivan’s detailing processes.
First:
Ivan noticed that there was only a little bit of dust atop the panel surfaces.
Using the in-house compressor to blow-off whatever dust was present…
He then proceeded to administer an:
ONR @ QD/Waterless dilution ratio...Waterless-Wash
(One can never be too careful around Ceramic rotors, and GM’s:
'Special CC' they apply to the carbon fiber top-panel…Ivan avered)
rops:
Afterwards came the obligatory “baggie-test”…
which yielded no above surface contaminates.
Second:
After a swirl-finding mission…Ivan decided that a cleaner-wax
would be sufficient for any paint correction.
He chortled, with his:
I’m going with both Meg’s "White Wax and Black Wax"…LOL"
(More on this Black and White later on.)
Some pictures...
(Sorry about my sorry camera/camera-skills
)
Before polishing…
During Ivan's polishing process…
Thirdly:
Beauty shots…
'
Fourthly…
(Sorry..No overhead Sun shots today in Ohio…)
Finally…Remember the "Black and White" I mentioned earlier:
My buddy from the Corvette Club was acting a little goofy after he came home from work...
Wait a minute!!! Hold the phone Maggie!!!
What's that I see hiding in the the bushes?
Yep...That's what I thought: Ivan and his:
Epilogue:
Thanks for viewing Ivan’s first polishing project conducted in his: “New Neck of the Woods”.

when Ivan Karstuff is holding a polisher you know he means business!
