I've got the exterior part of detailing down, but what about the interior?

A good interior detailer is worth ten who only know how to run a polisher. Paint polishers are a dime a dozen. People live in their cars sometimes hours a day.

The outside gets trashed within hours after you drive it out the driveway or the first heavy dew or rain.

Both can be equally as valuable, DEPENDING on teh clients needs. BUT i think for those of us who are professionals, we should strive to both equally as well, giving us all the more power to satisfy customers and have them refer us left right and center.

That being said ive seen 25times the amount of ruined finishes with buffer trails, holograms, and pigtails than I have interiors being ruined from improper technique and product. Maybe this is because many of these shoddy professionals figure the paint is where the money's at so they focus and churn em out....

I use a steamer for cleaning the entire interior, I don't have to use much cleaning products which saves me a lot.

I actually can do the interior better then the exterior, still getting better with a polisher, but interior I got it down. I deal with construction rigs and turn them into new trucks inside,(minus the wear of course)

Bingo. Paint correction is the rib eye steak of detailing but interiors and wash and wax are the bread and butter.

When doing a wash and wax, do have you clay for clients?

OK, Who becides myself HATES doing the interiors?

For a long time I didn't do interior work other than vacuuming. It just wasn't worth it. The only way to make it efficient and profitable is with a steamer, a Tornado, a hot water extractor, and such. Even so, I will not give even a ballpark quote for interior work without looking at it. Just last week a woman called me and said her three sick cats threw up and died in her car on the way to the vet six months ago and she couldn't stand the smell anymore. True story guys.

So what products do you guys recommend for starters on detailing an interior?

+1 if you ask for more than a quick interior wash and vac.

I should copyright that lol "quick interior wash and vac" lol

Then I'll decline and if need be, I'll refer them

I'm sure I can find somebody (pause......crickets...............

AGO comes to mind :D)

If they are willing to pay for it. If they purely want a wash and wax that's what they get.

Products: Folex and APC

Equipment (in order): Wet/dry vac, Tornador, vapor steamer, extraction

:iagree:

That's how I do it. Leatherique if doing leather. Give everything a nice coating of 303 and we're done.

Thanks! , have friends that want a wash and wax(they get those words from a car wash). (swirled out cars and they don't see any scratches) and they won't pay much(family). Figured they'll just go thru a swirl o matic the next day.
