I have a paint correction job this Saturday on a 2004 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas. This is my first Jaguar job. I do not know if Jaguar has a hard or soft finish, so that's my question.

Last weekend I did full paint correction on a 2015 GMC 3500 Denali dually using my standard plan of attack....
(Owner took the truck to self serve car wash with the big foaming brush and yes the outcome was not good)...

I plan on the same steps for the Jag...

Wash/clay
DA
Megs 105
Megs 205
LC CCS Orange pad with 105
LC CCS White pad with 205

No need to take anyone's word, which could be wrong. Do a test spot, using least aggressive product first. The test spot will tell you if it's hard or soft.

You should be fine having 105/205 in your arsenal!!!! Cant wait to see the results

Yes he is a Cane Corso. That's my boy Vince

So I completed the 2004 Jaguar XJ8. The owner was very happy with the results.

It was a pretty basic detail. The owner wanted it "shined up". I used Megs M205 and Griots Best of Show. The final result was a super deep reflection that the owner loved. The car was a swirled out mess. I was able to remove at least 90% of the scratches all the way around. For some reason when I tried M105 on LCC Orange pad, the 105 was very difficult to remove. Almost like a wax that hazed over. It didn't even feel right going on. I never had any issues with 105 like that before. I stuck with a LCC White pad and the 205.

Anyway the customer was happy with the outcome.

Yes. 205 only with a white Lake Country CCS pad using a HF DA

The swirl marks were just about vanished. The deeper scratches were cut down best as possible with 205. I was satisfied and so was the owner. The Best of Show wax really helped also.

Thanks by the way!
