Just a couple quick side by sides of the two. The Jetta is my daily beater, almost 300,000 on it now. Its a 2000 TDI/5spd, just put a new turbo in it last week. When I bought it in 2010 it was covered in salt due to it being winter. I decided to wash it that spring and then discovered every panel had serious scrapes or dents, in addition to the obvious dents and rust I had seen. Thus I haven't felt the need to polish a turd, but with getting into polishing paint and trying out some of the new stuff it was a good candidate.
On the Jetta, washed it, Iron X, Clay, Menzerna PG1000 w/Orange CCS on PE14 Flex, Menzerna SF4000 w/White CCS on 3401 Flex. Menzerna Power Lock to seal it.
Picture of the trunk before. I realize they are not the best, but I think my phone takes better pictures than my camera.
Picture after.
50/50
I also worked on polishing my toolbox (KRL7023) a little bit. These are single stage powercoated. Interesting to work with. Used a LC MF pad on the PE14 Flex with PG1000, then an MF pad with SF4000 on the 3401. Pictures don't really show it well but it turned out very nice.
