Jewling the paint?

I currently have PO85RD polish and i love it! It gives the color a really deep shine! But i believe i am not working it on the correct rpm on my rotary. I have a makita and ive read that in order to jewl the pain it must be done at a low rpm. What is the resonable rpm to jewl the paint with?also, can jewling the paint be done with m205??? Any help or response would be very handy!

I am currently kicking the Makita down to 600 RPM for a final 2 passes to kick the gloss up a bit at the end of my finishing stage. I think M-205 does pretty good.

I'll be interested in the replies in this thread as another forum member will be sending me a few ounces of PO85RD this week to try out. Seems this thread was right on time wise.:dblthumb2:

You will LOVE PO85rd!!! But im guessing ive been working it on the wrong rpm! Ill be posting pictures of a black mustang i finished off with 85rd!

I just ordered the PO85RD, based on a lot of the responses here. I was just wondering if it is best used with a rotary around 600 rpm or can you use it with a DA to achieve the same effect?

Dual Action - Polish at 5000-6000 Orbits Per Minute

Working slowly across and then up and down the area. Check your work after several passes to see if the defects have been removed. If so, reduce the pressure and continue buffing until a high gloss is achieved. If the pad becomes dry, mist it with water and continue buffing.

Using Flex 3401 I don't usually lower my speed... I adjust my pressure slowly fading to no pressure whatsoever for the final passes.

Can one jewel paint with a DA? If so what pad?

I bought the lake country gold jeweling pad. It seems like a wax pad more than anything else. Should I use a very fine polish with it? The only polish I have is m205, Clearkote pink moose glaze and xmt 360

never used the gold pad but if the pad says its for jeweling then jeweling for it must be...

I thought Kevin Brown was advocating slowing down the DA but maintain pressure. Has anyone done this specifically? I have always used the less pressure method at the end.

It's good to have this info as I was thinking that PO85RD was a non diminishing product. I haven't used any yet but should be trying some soon. Thanks guys! @ BobbyG...So this is a water based polish? Do I mist the panel or the pad?

I saw that... I'm glad he has something that works for him. I think he also said he can't finish real well with the Flex 3401. That may be out of context but that was what I got from it.
