Junk yard challange!!!!!

Make sure with this new job you got to buy a nice DLSR camera that can show case your work. Besides my polishers my camera is the next best tool I have for my business! But other than that GREAT job on landing this! Do whatever it takes to make a customer happy!

I have a new 120 dollar camera at home. Would that work??

In my opinion only... this is the kind of toolery I refuse to tolerate. Clients that start off by "Do this, do that, appease me, impress me, make my wildest dreams come true..." and dangle a carrot in front of your face, are the ones I show the door to.

I have turned down clients before, and will continue to do so, when I pick up on the attitude and expectations I will never indulge with my time or attention.

Now, maybe the client has a Bugatti Veyron, but even so... your portfolio of work, Facebook uploads, Instagram images, and so on and so on including your website galleries should MORE than serve as evidence of your workmanship. Again, in my sole opinion, if anyone ever showed up at my home with a hood and said "Make it shine," I'd ask them to leave and explain to them they are not who I want to work with.

You did the work and great job! Now you have the future work... (Congrats!)

Laughter is the best medicine (something like that)
So smile :)

I have very minimal business experience (so no comment on if you should have or shouldn't have done the first job)

I wet sanded and buffed out cars daily an not once did I take pictures (should have but I didn't. Oh well...)

You have the skills and now time to show them off...

LoL all the work for no response. Man would I be pissed. Hopefully he eventually does contact you, but that's the reason I'd never do this. You just dnt know.

THIS :(

I won't rehash my sentiments or belabor the situation... however, the most demanding customers are always... INVARIABLY... the most difficult to work with and never, ever tip after their myriad of obsessive complaints.

That hood was probably from his daily driver and not even a junkyard hood at all.

I am keeping the hood.

Just kidding man!!

I guess if you still have the hood it wasn't from his daily driver. I would have done the hood too actually. Not so much to get the work (though I'd want the work) but because I'll polish anything including the shower surround and the washing machine.

You never know, he may call someday. Lots of folks will say all kinds of stuff to get a discount or to get you to fast track their car in your scheduling, their favorite line is to tell you what they'll bring to you into the future. I've heard it enough to tell people "Whatever" and slam the door in their face.

got a possible stage three roush mustang because of the hood. guy named Jeff comes into my car wash is looking for a one step correction . I showed him the difference on the hood. He is going to call me to book an app. he's a bar tender (funk work schedule)

Great! Now you have before and after evidence in person (glad to hear it's starting to work out for you)

At least it is not all a waste, and you learned something. Did you take any info on this (!)hat? I would send him a bill for the hood and as a curiasy let any other detailer in the area know about him.
