I broke out the 85rd and several Gray CCS pads a few weeks ago and went to town on the Pony in hopes of glossing the paint up a bit. (No need for any real correction work at this time, as that was done last fall before I put her to bed for the winter). Any way when I pulled her out of the garage the next day the sun was shining on her in such a way I just had to snap a few pictures. Just wanted to share them...

Thanks for looking!

What did you put on it as an LSP after the PO85rd?

Awesome Tad. What part of the world do you live in that has 2 and sometimes 3 Suns?;)

Awesome cloud reflections. They look part of the finish. Some of the best "after" shots I've seen on here. :wow:

That horse looks damn good after a winter hibernation. It must get good care to remain in that condition.

Funny you ask, I was actually doing some comparisons; the entire left side of the car is wearing Souveran paste, and the entire right side is wearing SN....

Looking good, I wish my vette looked that nice.

Thanks Dana! You know it could, stop over some time and I'll give you a few pointers :laughing::laughing: Including a super finishing trick I read about that involves m105/and wool :D

Thanks Ron! The part of the world in which I live (that has 2 and sometimes 3 suns) is called Shinycarland Im the MAN

Thank you steamshooter!

Thank you Donald, and yes I try very hard to practice good paint maintainence techniques.

can you remove all those white clouds and multiple sunspots so I can see the actual paint ???? (smiling)

And dont worry about Dana, I hear he's into "smoking Vette paint" .

I'd say! They're so sharp you'd think they're under the clearcoat!

It looks awesome!!!

Words don't do it justice Tad. The best I've seen! I like how a couple of these guys put it. "looks like the clouds are underneath the clearcoat!"

So what are your thoughts on the comparison between the two? It looks like from the pictures that the Souveran side has better clarity. That could just be the way the light is....

I didn't care to much for the SN. I really thought it was much harder to apply then other waxes, and sweated (really noticable on flat black) for a few days. Removal was easy, protection seems good, and once it quit sweating looks great. Just to be fair it was the only time I ever used it and I am sure I applied it to thick. I am used to using Souveran which goes on SO easy and is very forgiving...

Now because of you I am going to start working on my vette tomorrow. Pull the wheels and and to town washing it, then on to polishing since it has dust on it from 6 months ago.

Something tells me the sun and clouds are "under" the clear coat!!

I don't think I've seen a finer job, certainly one that all others should be judged by....:props:

:dunno:Sorry man, but if you weren't such a good coach you probably wouldn't have to worry about it now. Wow seems like you need someone to come by and take your vette out for runs for you :D

Thank you for the kind words Bobby:xyxthumbs:

Nice! The sun is your best friend after a good polish & wax, especially on black. The sun tells no lies! I use the halogen style lights in the garage, but I still drag the car out in the sun to get the true feel of my work. My neighbors think Im crazy due to all the re-positioning I do to catch the sun light on all the panels

Thanks Chris, you are correct about the sun, it tells all, especially on black!!

So who taught you how to paint a mirror like that? Wow looking nice. You are feeding that pony well Tad!:dblthumb2:
